Default Problems with wifi or apps?

Hi. i currently use Pulse RSS reader and notice how its very very slow retrieving updates and adding new rss feeds when using my wifi.

when i use my 3g connection via T mobile, its fine?

Chrome browser seems fine on wifi, so does gmail, But i notice that even facebook and tweetcaster is very very slow using it via wifi.

Any suggestions?.

I tried tweaking my netgear router by reserving a local IP for my device and still diddnt work. im with"BeThere" internet.

The signal strength is max bars according to the device and my internet connection on my pc's are fast and acting normal. i am using a netgear DG834GT router.

Thanks in advance

It happens after unlocking the device and it's similar to this issue:

The wifi can totally stop or just being very very slow after resuming the device

Try rebooting your router. I had the exact same issue, the One X would be shockingly bad on WiFi even though other phones and laptops would be fine on the exact same network. I tried resetting the phone but still nothing, was beginning to think the phone was faulty. Ended up rebooting the router (unplugging it for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in) and bizarrely sorted the issue out immediately. Its been 5 days now and my WiFi is still working 100% perfectly. Not sure why only the One X could get affected by this, but seems to be a common issue judging by this forum.

Default My solution that works so far

Hi

Actually there ar three threads currently regarding this WiFi issue. I post my reply here.

- The one here
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...1590604&page=2
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1590884

I tried for days everything that was proposed in the three threads. Nothing really helped. The issue remained. In my repeater, the One X shows no IP number, but it must have one. The problem description is same as described in the three threads.

My solution after days of trying (forget everything about changing your routers config which has been working perfect over the past. It won't help in long terms):

I gave the One X an own repeater where it has to connect to (I've excluded it from the router and repeater one). Since then, everything works fine. It probably could also be an own router. Of course this is considered as a workaround, and I do not accept it if there will be no update in the future, or replacement of the unit if it is a hardware issue.

Question:

I guess this describes the problem and solution perfectly.

http://mhotspot.com/blog/themsk-fix-...ifi-problem-2/

However, how can I give the One X an own IP? I really can't find a menupoint to do that! And saying the router to give the One X always the same IP number is not enough. This alone doesn't help.

Does anyone know where to give the One X an own IP number? If this is not possible we might have an unsolvable problem.

Tks

Tks

You can give the One X its own IP by going to

Settings>Wi-Fi>(choose your SSID)>(disconnect if you already connected)>click on the SSID again>'show advanced options'>(scroll down(touch around any of the text and move your finger up, if that makes sense)) IP Settings>click on DHCP>select static>(scroll down, same way as before)>enter the IP address etc etc

Hope that helps if you haven't already figured it out. I can always post you some screenshots if you need it?

for me it seems to be an issue with my router as every router i have used known to man(work, friends, wifi cloud) all work flawlessly.

i do have it set to static dhcp for my phone and it seem to be a bit more stable but tends to lose bandwidth fast
