Please read the OP. Not required, but you can still flash if you want to.

So you are saying the ROM you had on caused the USB problem and that stock Samsung fixed it>>??

I'm in a sticky mess then. If I flash on any other ROM through CWM (copy off ext SD) to to try and cure it I could end up in a boot loop requiring Odin. But the phone won't talk to Odin through its USB. A potential brick situation then.. Am I stuck on 04052012 nightly forever?

At least the phone boots and works (other than USB) though!
Thats bad news for you, then only jtag can help you out.

Hi,

I ran into a problem. I flashed the latest nightly updating from the 23rd of april nightly.
After flashing it, wiping Dalvik Cache and Fixing permission I went to restart.
Now my phone doesn't get further than the kernel boot image. It actually switches from the standard samsung one to the Cyanogenmod one to a black screen and back to samsung.

I can't enter my recovery menu to restore to my back up but download modus is still availlable. Anyone has an idea on how to fix this without having to Odin reflash everything?
Otherwise someone has a link to a good odin-flashable recovery rom with step by step guide?

I had the USB trouble twice on different nightlies (USB storage andUSB-Debugging).

First time I went the long way via Samsung stock - CWM - CM9 using Heimdall to get USB working. Second time I just turned the phone off, removed battery, restart, USB working.

I have different suspects causing the USB getting out of order:
- car dock
- AndroSensor

but so far I haven't been able to reproduce the failure yet. And I can not confirm the way to recover USB.

BTW:
How can I get logcat without USB? USB-Debugging over TCP/IP is not working either in that situation.

obviously it depends on the changes.

However, in general I can say that if you have a gapps from before march 17th, then flashing the recent gapps will have a tremendous positive effect on your battery use (i.e. it uses less)

Did you try change settings in Phone-settings-call forwarding?
