Default Target - in stock online only

Just ordered ANOTHER one from Target. Their normal return policy is 90 days. For computers/tablets it is 45 days, which is even better than Amazon! I'll get to use a new Prime and see if a new one operates better then the one I have now. Heck, if Asus isn't going to help me I'll just keep helping myself. I hate to keep $550 tied up all the time, but I have no choice.

I am on my 5th Transformer Prime.

Well... I ordered from there on April 9th and was promised delivery on friday. Called today because it still showed as not shipped and was told they are on back order with no estimate of fulfillment.

Just FYI, Target's return policy is unopened items only.

I tried ordering one from there in Feb, but the shipping date came and went 3 times before I cancelled it and ordered from one of the office stores. Targets online site is terrible since they split with Amazon.

I'll have to check on that. If that is the case I won't even open it.

This is their return policy. Is it hard to tell if you open something up you can return it or not? They really word things pretty slick. Please read below and tell me what you think. Would you be allowed to get a full refund on an OPEN tablet within 45 days?

all about returns

It’s a fact: We change our minds. No problem.
Target return policy

our promise to you
We promise to attempt a return on every item purchased by scanning your receipt or packing slip, offering receipt look-up* or a non-receipted return or exchange with a valid form of identification.

refund/exchange policy
Most unopened items in new condition returned within 90 days will receive a refund or exchange. Some items have a modified return policy noted on the receipt, next to the item or below if purchased in Stores, and in the "Item details, shipping" tab for your item if purchased on Target.com. Items that are opened or damaged or do not have a receipt may be denied a refund or exchange.

exceptions
Returns and exchanges without a receipt may be limited. For manufacturers’ warranty and repair assistance, call 1-800-303-0308. The following items are non returnable if opened and may only be exchangeable: music, movies, video games and software.

The following items must be returned within 45 days: computer hardware (Netbooks, eReaders, Tablets), cameras and camcorders.

Store refunds will be issued in the same form of payment originally used for purchase:
Credit Card Purchases: refund will be credited to the original credit card.

Target GiftCard Purchases: refund will be issued in the form of a Target GiftCard.

Gift Recipients: refund will be issued in the form of a Target GiftCard (in-store returns) or eGiftCard (online returns).

Check Purchases: refund will be issued in the form of a Target GiftCard up to 10 days after original purchase or as cash back.

PayPal Purchases: return items to a Target store or Target.com and your refund will be issued in the form of a Target GiftCard.

Tax: The appropriate tax amount by item will be included with your refund.

Discounts and Promotions: The refunded value for each item returned will be reduced to reflect the value of any free gift or discount.

*Receipt Look-up
In most instances, Target stores can verify purchases made in Stores and on Target.com within the last 90 days on a credit or debit card, check or GiftCard using our Refund Look-up system.

"Most items must be returned within 90 days and must be in new and unused condition. If returning your Target.com purchase through the mail it must also contain all original packaging and accessories. Some items have a modified return policy noted on the receipt and in the "Item details, shipping" tab for your item. The following items must be returned within 45 days: Computer Hardware (Netbooks, eReaders, Tablets)..."

There is nothing said about "unopened." The item only needs to be in "new and unused condition." Read: no scuffs or scratches.

You didn't read my post above. Target's return policy states:

Quote:
Most unopened items in new condition returned within 90 days will receive a refund or exchange.
You have to click through to this page: http://www.target.com/HelpContent?he...rn_policy.html

I called a few stores and they all told me that only unopened tablets can be returned (I was asking about the iPad for a friend of mine).
