Is what I described the sleep of death bug? Not quite sure if the symptoms fit.

Sleep of death is something that affects a small percentage of Tegra2 chips... is a known issue across a number of Tegra2 based devices.

But, in your case, the kernel oopsed when the device woke up & resumed to 1.4 GHz...
Does it do it at 1 GHz? ie no o/c?

Unfortunately it does, in a way. I tried it again using the 20120721 build. The maximum frequency is set to 1.0 GHz using the setting in the Performance region of the settings app. But looking through a new kernel log (which I have attached), I found that prior to the kernel hick-up cpufreq again spools up to 1.4 GHz although it should be limited to 1.0 as the setting says.

i know a few of you guys are/were building from source, so im a just give you a heads up, the power menu is all-kinds-of messed up at the moment due to a change in the main source. its being looked into. just want to make sure you guys are aware.

latest version of cm9 is in the OP of this thread, other than that, there is a cm10 preview as stated above me in another thread. that's the latest at the moment.
