Default One of a kind Full Body Case (1 Piece Skin)

So i just made myself the first? full body skin that covers everything from the back right up to the screen edge.

I made myself a "pr0totype" first to see if it would even work.

First attempt = Blue skin
Second and final attempt = Grey skin

What do you guys think?
It took me about 30minutes to do it.
I didnt use a knife to cut around the screen or camera.. i just used my thumb nail. silded it up and down the gap until it cut the vinyl.
For the speaker i used a knife to make a slit in both the holes.. then lifed the middle part up with a tweezer and cut the vinyl on both sides.
for the two ports i made a hole.. cut the excess off and put both, usb and headjack in to make it stick to the sides better.
as for the mic.. i used a needle to pierc the vinyl then lifed it up and cut the excess off.

oh also when i applied it, i heated it up with my fan heater and stretched it around the phone bit by bit while heating it up when needed... had to make sure there was no creases on the bezel because it would of just collected dust/ peeled off after awhile.

PS: I never remove my battery or sim

I got like 1 mile of different types of vinyl lol.

Its quite easy if you take your time. The best thing is that you can peel it off, heat it back up and reapply if you made any type of mistake... like creases or air bubbles.

Im pretty sure you can get small bits of vinyl from material shops. At first i used a thin type of vinyl.. I then tried a thicker type and found it much better... easier to cut since its not as flexible

is there a specific brand thats widely distributed that i could get in the US that you recommend? not sure where i could buy a small sheet of vinyl. also, is a blow dryer hot enough to heat up the vinyl?

Well its my Dad thats the expert. He uses http://apaspa.com
I live in the UK so i wouldnt know any places you could go other then material shops.
I dont know if apaspa sells small rolls.

When my Dad comes back ill ask him what type of vinyl it is.. All i know is that you shouldnt use banner vinyl because its very thin and flimsy.

Blow dryer should be fine.. just heat it up untill you can stretch it a little(like 1cm)... then place it down on the back of the phone while still holding it tight and mold it.. heat it up again if needed.

If you do get a small piece then i suggest you test it with small squares until you think you're ready

does the vinyl you use have some kind of adhesive on 1 side to stick to the phone better?

depends.. If you buy cheap vinyl then most likely yes... but i dont think the cheap vinly would even work.. because it has to be stretched quite abit around the edges.

Im 100% sure it wont leave the phone sticky when you remove it IF you dont use the cheap vinyl.

If you're unsure of what vinyl you buy.. just stick it on something that has the same surface and leave it on there for a week or two... heat it up and cool it down a couple of times too.. for "real world use" then peel it off and see the results.

Edit:
Im probably going to change the color every now and then.. so i will post more pictures when i do... a week or two.

DONATE TO ME
looks great!

but honestly tho, what IF you have to do a battery pull... example, ive been having kernel issues that is making me do battery pulls... what if you have an app that just freezes and your phone stops responding, requiring a battery pull.... just playing devils advocate here thats all
