First you should install Droid Explorer to Install Z4root v1.3.0 via usb cable to root your Captivate.
Second you download SGS unlock pro v1.3 to install on it and run it to unlock your phone.

Before do this, you must turn on "USB debugging" of your Captivate:
Settings\Application\Development\Check the box for USB debugging
and then you can plugin cable on your computer to connect your phone.

You do not need to pay someone to unlock the phone. There are ways to do it that are listed in this forum. Just search.

I'm feeling generous this morning:
  1. Root phone
  2. Download Galaxy S Unlock from Market
  3. Run it
  4. Click Unlock
  5. Start at step 1 and follow instructions
  6. BACKUP THE /SDCARD/GALAXY_S_UNLOCK FOLDER!
  7. Now back it up to another place
  8. Back it up to a third place just to be sure.
