I seen to remember some getting there computer to see the KIN as a Qualcomm device, but cant find the thread. Anyone remember how, I saw something at another forum I was gonna try since I don't mind bricking my phone.

Hey are you talking about when you go to your phone app and call ##77647266488 and then enter the default code 000000.
Followed by selecting the option "field test menu" and then swiping 3 pages to the right and scrolling down untill you see the data service option which lists either Pre 707, Qualcomm, or IS 707. (Your device should already be set to IS 707. But you can change it to Qualcomm.

Hope this helps you :P

No I was talking about when it's plugged into your computer and it's recognized as a Qualcomm device instead of a kin. No one ever seemed to remember and I don't have a kin anymore all its no help now, but I'm thinking about picking one up to play with.... So well see.

I understand that but when you connect it to a computer it still says kin two there was a button combo that entered into a Qualcomm mode....like a bootloader and it was recognized by saying something like Qualcomm device.

Unless of course that will do it. I don't have a kin anymore to test this out.

Hmmm....The only thing as far as a button combo that might put it into qualcomm mode is :

Enter Ms Pink Bootstrap mode (aka SBL mode)

Hold L+S+ Power
Prints nothing, enters SBL mode

I don't have windows installed on my pc so can't really try it out.As far as i know changing it in the settings will for sure put it in qualcomm mode.

These were the other key combo's johnkussack figured out:

Hope that helps.

Ya I didn't see what I was thinking of there. I wish I had a kin to change modes and see if that did it
