If you like this rom, supports our site with your registration
-Flash one of Speedmod K3-series or GL NoteCore V7 /v8 or NEWER( Those are safe ICS kernels, tested by my and hundreds more)
-Reboot into recovery
-Since I don't know what you have been doing with your phone (patching, using obscure scripts/apps etc, etc), apply factory/data reset, which is safe on K3-10 for instance (forget abyss or any other gb kernel)
-Then flash Criskelo rom and see what you want to change within the aroma installer (just read everything carefully before pressing "next")
If you are not sure what to choose just keep on pressing next.
You can always change the kernel afterwards, for instance.
-Reboot
After rebooting check if you need to update superSU and busybox
IF YOU CAN'T UPDATE THOSE, THEN INSTALL SU FROM PLAY STORE, UPDATE SUPERSU AND BUSYBOX AND REBOOT ( as it was happening on the v10 build)
Ps- If you still hesitate on applying a factory reset from recovery using a safe ICS kernel, just flash K2-12 (or abyss or any other gb kernel), reboot recovery(advanced), apply factory reset, flash ICS kernel back, reboot recovery and flash Criskelo - But believe me, you don't need too
If you still have problems, I then suggest a fresh stock firmware install, then root it, get the buit-in CWM5 and then, flash the rom
If you are not sure on how to do it, Read the related threads on how to ( ask Dr. Ketan)

I tend to use the Abyss 4.2 Red as it means I can be clear when I reboot into recovery that I am not using an ICS recovery and so don't do any wipes by mistake
Me, myself and I only tested this procedure on Speedmod (K2-12) and CF gb kernels, but that red colored built-in CWM of Abyss isn't a bad idea, because you know for sure you are using a GB built-in CWM.
In case you prefer (like me) to use Speedmod K2-12 instead of a Abyss kernel, remember that Speedmod's built-in CWM have a minor error:
/Install zip from sdcard /Choose zip from internal sdcard ... will take to EXTERNAL sd.
Choose zip from sdcard, takes you to internal..meaning just the other way around....
In case you get anyway ROOT issues afterwards, you can try updating SU and busybox or use CF's flashable zip from recocery : CWM-SuperSU-v0.90.zip
