Same issue here with apex... and apex is already system apps... now i have switched to Nova, no freeze until now (8hours)

Sorry don't get your meaning actually.

I assume: Clean Criskelo vs my set up?
Modem: I used LP5 cause it much more better reception for me here.
Kernel: I use Franco r3 its cooked kernel for better performance and battery..etc. Criskelo is using CF-Kernel LPY is more to basic that which close to stock LPY kernel.
CarbonTweak: Some tweaking stuff to increase performance, speed, connectivity..etc

I also saw this bug on my brother's GS2 which is on ics.
what is wrong with google to release a whole new version of is with such huge bugs ? every ics device has these errors. look at the mess in htc one series. It's a huge failure...

I dont know if this work: You can try:
- Forget network
- Restart your phone
- Go to Wifi advance setting
- Uncheck Wifi Notification
- Keep Wifi on during sleep (set to Only when plug in)
- Reboot and monitor how it go
