As I mentioned earlier it did mess up the recovery in CMW. The touch recovery works fine though. Would be a better idea to flash the touch recovery first before flashing this update.

2) uncheck the little checkbox (seems to disappear if you translate it)

Good to know. I'm still playing with Civato's ROM while I consider the options. I'm using CWM but it's the one that comes with Acer Recovery Installer. I've been sticking with it because I'm new to Android(not Linux) and it seems to use the external SD card as default and I read something about incompatability between the format twrp uses vs cwm. No idea if it matters. I just try to be careful since I couldn't afford to replace my device if I brick at the moment.

Did you remove "/recovery" from the update when you removed "bootloader.blob"? I wonder if that's could be what happend to your bootloader.

What happened with your bootloader and what did you do to recover?(feel free to just link post if I am missing it)

I was going to try installing the Acer Ring apk from sd card and maybe some of the other acer apk files included in Civato's ROM eventually if nothing else. It's good to hear they will be adding it. I like that feature allot.

I suppose once you make a good backup you could just try getting it to work that way. I used the apk files out of various ROMs to get some of the apps I wanted without a backup.

Nothing happened with the bootloader. I removed the bootloader.blob. It is working fine. Just the recovery is boink. Tablet works fine though. Just cannot use cmw recovery. I tried to pushed the cmw recovery again with adb and it still did not work. I ended up installing the touch recovery afterward just to have something to use.

If anyone is able to get cmw recovery working with the new update please let me know.

I am loving it so far. Its pretty much acer stock image but now the touchpad is actually working in the games.

So it wouldn't be safe to flash over the leak?. I think I will wait till Friday when the ota comes out in the USA and see my options then......

Tried again and a third time waiting, nothing happened.

just a fyi if your having issues seeing the code you might need to hit "show original page" in chrome aka turn off translation to see the link i found that translation hid the link.

So to install the touch recovery then you used cat or dd via shell commands?(meaning after borking cwm)

I flashed TWRP then removed bootloader.blob and recovery.sh from new rom and flashed over flexreaper rom...worked fine... had to reroot and install superuser from market... all is well...

I have CWM, the one posted in the DEV section working fine, I didn't lose it after flashing this, I opened up the zip (didn't unzip) deleted anything that mentioned bootloader or recovery and all works fine.

Yep thanks. Reloading the page without the translator, then entered the numberic string and hit enter and it gave me a link. DL it now. I have a job interview today so I wont be around. Prob wont mess with it till I get home.

i did install the 12 version by the update.zip file on sd card and use the volume + power key to let it install. Can i do this also for this version?
