The reason I'm trying to change radios is wen I turn my WiFi on my WiFi can't even reach to my upstairs . I would have one bar or won't even connect anyone knows why ?

The cell radio and wifi are 2 seperate things, and wifi has its own antenna. Wifi is part of the kernel, try a different one. Also most wireless routers have a output power setting as to how far the signal goes, make sure that is up all the way. Do other devices connect with good signals upstairs?

Sure do. My sisters HTC rhyme has all bars upstairs
Not sure, are you running any apps that may take controll of wifi power? A sip program or task killer or battery saver app mabey? Other than that im not sure.

I know my Inc's WiFi isn't super great for me on my second floor, although my Rezound does just fine. Inc is on Abduction ICS with the newest Incredikernel, and I use the Rezound Incredikernel on my Rezound.
Doesn't bother me much as I just use it as an mp3 player/alarm clock, but just my two cents.
I suspect the WiFi radio in the Inc isn't spectacular...but being upstairs should get you better cell service. You could also look into a Wifi Access Point and extend your network.

Turning up the transmit power "all the way" is the last thing you should do. First off you will piss off your neighbors using wifi. Second, transmitting from the router at high power will do NOTHING if your phone cannot transmit back with EQUAL effectiveness. What you should try is MOVING the wifi router to a better location. Preferably up high, not blocked by metal objects. Wifi signals work best when the source and destination operate in the same general plane, e.g. the same floor of a house. If the wifi router is on the 2nd floor and your phone is on the 1st floor the closer you get "under" the router, the worse your signal (especially for high gain antennas). Most routers come with a 2 or 3 dB gain antenna. These have pretty good vertical beam width, meaning the angle up and down that they transmit and receive is fairly wide. This is good for multi floor homes. The price you pay for all that vertical coverage is less distance. If you are going for distance, and you have removable antennas, a 7 or 9 dB gain will allow the wifi router to not only have a higher effective radiating power (without adjusting any internal setting), but it will allow it to RECEIVE weaker signals from farther away. Again, the price you will pay for extra range is LESS vertical beam width. That means if you are close to the router, if you move up and down (vertically) too much, you will start to loose signal quickly. So, a high gain antenna is good if you are a house width away and on the same floor, but BAD if you are on different floors (you will be outside the vertical beam width).
Hope that helps.

Very interesting. So i have a Linksys E3000 router and it has no external antennas. It can sit flat or be wall mounted. Which position would get the signal to spread out the farthest but still work good up close too?
