So my charging port finally went out of my evo 4g.. So i took it to sprint store for repair. They took a look at it, and might I add a beautiful tech woman eyeing my phone.... Anyways she said she can't repair it, because its motherboard faulty. . So she said I needed to do a claim.. I called asuron and spoke to a lady about getting a evo asap... She was like great blah bla bla.. adress.. blah blah.. oh btw how would u like that 100 dollar deductable taken out? Im like wtf. So I'm due for a upgrade may 18th, so I decided to buy one of those battery chargers for 27 bucks that with a little engeneering can charge my 3500.. I asked if I will get money trading the phone in damaged, they said yes.. So I recently heard evos go for 99 dollars for trade in.. Anyone know how much I could get for a damaged phone for trade in? And should I wait for the new htc evo lte, or take the nexus google lte for my upgrade?

I would wait till May 18 (rumor release date) to get the Evo 4g LTE. Figure out how to use your EVO 4g till then.

yes definitley go with the new evo. it is better in almost every aspect

Replacement charging Ports are ten bucks or less on Ebay. They are simple to desolder and resolder the replacement. I doubt the beautiful tech girl could possibly diagnose a main board problem without first replacing the port.

Man, what a lucky upgrade date! May 18th is the all-but-confirmed release date of the greatest phone to hit the streets in a LONG time! EVO 4G LTE all the way - the Nexus is already dated (which yes, our EVO will be dated by Q3 too).

Also, I am also highly interested in what I will get for my EVO 4G when I trade it in. If it is $100, I will give it to Sprint. If less, I may try to sell it on eBay. I should be able to snag over $100 there. Or at least some form of triple digits (my goal).

Anyone know the trade in value at the moment for our EVOs? I bet they'll be getting a LOT of them real soon!
