Thanks , I'll do that from now on. I did finally get the ROM flashed. I was getting only partial file downloads, like 103 MB instead of 324MB or whatever the actual size was. I'm sure it had to do with the crappy internet connection I had been dealing with. But, that is fixed and I was able to download the radio file and the ROM to my laptop and copied it to an SD card and then put the SD card in the phone, recovery mode, flashed the files all is good. So, now to see how well this ROM works. So far, it seems great. I think the battery is being sucked up a little quick but, I have to give it more time.

It turns out that it was my internet connection. I got it straightened out, and also because of the lousy connection, the files I downloaded were only about a third of the actual size. Anyways, I was able to get the ROM installed, and so far it seems great. Thanks for the response.
Able to read and post using either my SGH-I897 Captivate (no longer AT&T) , or my SGH-T989 Galaxy S2 Hercules. Both rooted, sometimes stock, sometimes not. The two best phones to own. And always, thanks to everyone on this site.
I'm using XDA Premium. Right now my Cap is running on Jellybean 4.2.1 AOCP 5 Build By The Collective - The GS II Hercules is running Darkside Evolution.3 v8 By TheDerekJay using the Venom o3 Kernel

Use one of the versions of the aGPS patch/fix labeled "alternate." I had the same problem. This has nothing to do with this ROM. My GPS has been terrible since moving to ICS from GB...even on the stock T-Mobile firmware.

This section really, really needs more moderators. 75% of the posts for the past 50+ pages don't belong in the development section at all. Guys, general questions and problems go in the Q&A section. The development section is for discussing the ROM, bugs that can be confirmed to be bugs, etc. It is not for little problems and general Android questions.

Since the developer does not disclose his modifications anything that happens people relate to his ROM. Naturally, GPS is one of these issues. There are a lot of unintended consequences of any modifications.
Cheers!

V6 has very minimal gain on this Rom. Derek in my opinion has done a great job with this Rom and it is very responsive. If Derek felt it woulf help he would be promoting the use his Rom.

How heavy are you using it. Check for wake locks, loss of signal, anything? I get 17 hours solid and use it medium to heavy through out the day.

Just flashed this a couple of days ago, it is running smooth and the battery life is great; not to mention WiFi Calling <3

IMHO this has much better battery life than any CM9/AOKP

Something is definitely wrong somewhere. This ROM has zero issues with bad battery life. Check your stock battery monitor stats. Is the 'Awake' line solid? You need to find out what app is keeping your phone awake even when the screen is off. I sometimes have my weather app freeze up and keep my phone awake. First try a reboot. Then start hunting for that rogue app(s) draining battery using GSam battery monitor and BetterBattery Stats apps.

I have all my location services turned off and can never get a GPS lock while attempting to first lock while in Maps. Try downloading GPS Test app from the Market. Run that app outside or in your car (amy take a minute or two). Once you get a lock on that, close the app. Doing that helps me get a fast lock in Maps.
