Thanks Wolverine, I've checked #1 and #2, no problem. guess it's #3 as that's what I did. Guess I had to wait for the original ROM (with everything intact). Again, thanks.

Here ya go... worked fine for me but no guarantees.... as usual, use at your own risk.

update.zip <- will work for a bit again (as of June 2 2012)

Lets see how long the bandwidth lasts!

Big thanks to t_r_j for sending me the file.

Default What I found

After several tries and just booting the A500, I found that I had to hold down the down-volume and power buttons PAST when the unit turned on.

You have to hold them down LONGER than just when the ACER logo appears. That tripped me up. If you hold them down until you see the command text start to scroll in the upper left hand corner, then you can release!

Now I've got the "gears" and am hopeful the update takes.

'course, it would have been nice if Acer hadn't dribbled out the update with a digital eyedropper! everyone I know had it long ago. I wonder if it's serial# driven.

I did this too.

Thumbs up Worked for me

Thanks very much t_r_j and oldgaf.
Gave up waiting for acer, been using this since just after you first posted it up oldgaf, and the Tablet's been as stable as it was before the update. So thanks for that.... now the next question. You guys gonna help with the love for JellyBean . Cause I'd imagine your gonna get it out at least a couple of months before the Makers, or if it will even get released to us, they released about 4 newer models and updated those first. This webite and all the Dev's that share with us not so gifted individuals, Thanks, it's all appreciated.

No sign of an update for my Packard Bell Liberty Tab via the updater, so went for this option.

Worked great for me - Many Thanks!

Packard Bell Liberty Tab - from 3.2.1? to ICS.

It could be your SD card, try another if you have one and ensure its formated to Fat32.
