Default How to take a screenshot with the Rogers ONE X ...

Well, I went through virtually all the forums regarding the Rogers/AT&T ONE X, and I did not find anything about how to take a screenshot.

Actually, I've wanted to take screenshots for quite a while, and ended up downloading No Root Screenshot It!, which did work, but there were a few minor issues.

Then, earlier this morning I happened to be visiting the Forums for the International ONE X when I discovered how to do it with the stock Rogers unit. It wouldn't surprise me if it will also be possible with the AT&T version.

Here's what to do:

Hold down the POWER button and then press the HOME key

Your screenshot will be in your DCIM (Camera) directory.

I was able to figure this out pretty fast coming from an iPhone as it's the same button combination to capture a screenshot.

I didn't know this was an issue as many people have already posted SS in the battery thread

Ahh, I didn't realize that it was already discussed in the battery thread. I tried the search, and came up with nada, so I thought I'd share my information.

Thank you.

Well, looks like there's two ways then!

Power + Volume Down works as well. This is the default across all ICS devices. It captures a screenshot and saves in the in the Screenshots folder in the root of your SD.

Power + Home must be HTC's implementation.

You have to hold it in, maybe ~ 5 seconds. Your way (Power & home) sounds faster although perhaps a touch more awkward to do one-handed...

I tried it again, holding it for several seconds, but no image. I do see that after about 3-5 seconds, the three capacitive buttons flash, which would indicate to me that something's happening, but I can't find an image anywhere.

I've looked in virtually every directory on the Phone storage (SDCard), but found nothing. And if you ask, there is no directory called Screenshot.

Huh, the demo unit at my AT&T store takes an image... odd that it would be disabled (or whatever)

It definitely works for me. I only have to hold the buttons for a second or two. The whole screen flashes and a "Screenshot captured" notification will appear.

And the directory is actually /Pictures/Screenshots, sorry.
