[Q] kindle app not recognizing my books

i just rooted my kindle fire today. i thought i was all done and when i went to read a book, the kindle app is not recognizing any of my books that were sideloaded. the books are actually in the book folder and the doc folder. they are just not being recognized by the app. does anyone have a clue as to how i can fix this.

If you're using the Kindle app instead of the stock launcher, put them in your "kindle" folder.

Thanks for replying, but that didn't work either. I deleted the kindle app and tried downloading the app again but it still did not recognize the books.

Try a different eReader app like Aldiko.

What format are your books?

Same issue...can't load books

I'm having the same issue. I've tried to sideload and email books....no luck...I have a few books that I have previously purchased that sometimes show up in the cloud but you cannot download it and most of the time, they do not show up. I am rooted. Thanks for any help!

after putting your books in the kindle folder (also, they have to be MOBI format) restart your kindle, they should show up then.

Edit: my original instructions were if you were using the market kindle app. If you're still on stock, put the books in the Document Folder
