I can understand how it may not feel as premium compared to polycarb/metal/glass, but it is really less durable?
Usually people who think Samsung's plastic is less durable have never owned one.

That's going overboard. The One X doesn't look substantially different. The corners on the SIII are more rounded, sure, but both designs are so minimalist that anyone saying the One X is gorgeous and the SIII is "ugly" is full of crap. Seriously, they're both very bland.

That's utter nonsense. They didn't hype it at all. Apart from mentioning quad-core, Samsung left us with no info. Look back through the threads here... everyone was begging on their knees for more information.

But I agree with you about the colour. Black it is.

Im really curious about the camera hardware..

"focusing on connectivity and social enhancements, rather than updated sensor and low-light shooting technologies."
-this scares me. If this is true i will not be picking up a S3 which i had hoped for.

the One X f2.0 cam is pretty nice... any news on sample shots for the s3?

"Build quality" probably isn't the right term. Perceived quality has just as much importance as actual durability to the customer, as seen by the 1000000000000 morons who drop their iPhone and are shocked when the glass breaks.

When people want a premium device, what they really want is something with a bit of heft and as little flex as possible. You could legitimately argue this is a really stupid thing, but it's been proven time and time again in customer surveys (and sales).

none, and never

no one has ever been able to prove the contrary

instead, many reviews has shown all the benefit of having an all plastic shell

it's just your usual people biatching about "low quality feel" just because it's not made of glass (stupid idea of Apple IMO ) or metal (they are too used to heavy HTC / Nokia phones)

so people moving to Samsung from those other manufactures feels like a downgrade for them

Donation is appreciated but not required, a cup of Coffee would suffice

I don't mind being plastic. I really like the texture on the back cover of my SGSII. What I HATE is the glossy finish - fingerprint magnet just like on the first SGS. YUCK.

You know, the vast majority of people (millions of them) are not aware of XDA, quad/dual core, weekly upgrades etc. For them what matters is the default experience must be nice. That's what Samsung has focused on.

I can bet many buyers will be more interested in the automatic Facebook tagging vs camera sensor no matter what we think, that's just what the market is these days. I can see why Samsung chose to please them rather than the hardcore people. What is surprising is they didn't spend any time making the phone pretty.
