follow that thread. closeone did a good job and he's very patient and helpful !

as i don't have linux,
i burnt the iso file to a cd and it worked great.
you test before you brick (to make sure you can connect to device)
and after it downgrades you to hboot 1.40
you can continue on with the cd
or do the rest on your own (ruu 1.13 and revolutionary)
without using the toolkit live cd.

kudos to unknownforce and closeone (and others) for helping so many get hboot 1.40

Boot up with the disc in the drive. You will need to change the boot order to read the disc drive before the hard drive. You can do that in your BIOS or any utility app your computer may have.

You used imgburn or a similar application to burn the disc right? Windows explorer and Nero won't do what you need

I left. Vin is crazy. And one of the non-booters said to me "lol ok bruh". Which I took to mean he thinks I don't know what I'm doing. So unless vin directly asks me for help, I'm just watching all the noobery go down, and it's glorious. Lol. Vin I love you.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried making a live cd on usb and boot to usb? Might be easier for some, but then again.... maybe not. That's how I've run live linux/Android in the past on pc.
Didn't do much with, just playing around.

Sent from my Warmed up EVO 3D, using TapaTalk 2.
White EVO 3D / Rooted / TWRP 2.3+ / ZR3D-XL, d3rp Drama, Paranoid Android
RL - 1.4 HBoot S-OFF

----------

Former::
Release day EVO 3D / Rooted / TWRP 2.2 / ZR3D-XL or d3rp Drama
RL - 1.4 HBoot S-OFF
-----:
EVO 4G / Rooted / Amon Ra / Warm TwoPointTwo or Synergy (RLS1+GodMode)

Battery mods specifically for ZR3D-XL*
*These may work on other ROM's, but will probably alter a few things in your framework that aren't already there.

Some of my ZR3DX mod's (NOTE: for older version)

And excuse me for not being dedicated to this as much as you. and this is all 2 much for a rom even tho it is nice. i'll just wait till a simpler way comes out. and if a easier way doesn't come out oh well... but i wanna thank everyone who was helping me and stayed patient. thanks again peace.

what if i think you know what your talking about? and i ask for help and am willing to listen and be your padowan?

I have hboot 1.5, s-on, htc unlock, twrp-shooter-2.1.1.img, i use fastboot boot twrp-shooter-2.1.1.img

i know my phone well enough that ive never had problems flashing.

ive tried flash image gui and fastboot into recovery. i install modified superwipe and then flash the rom but i either get the boot screen then back to htc or i get all the way to the homescreen then back to the htc screen.

im going to install redline for the night so i have something for tomorrow. or just use my God forsaken iphone till i get the evo up and running agian.

Please dont make me use the iphone Duce. Please

1st odd thought - have you tried (after it loops/freezes) to pull the batt and boot up normally again? It might work

2nd odd thought (related to the first) - Extract the ROM, remove the "setup" folder, full wipe, flash in whatever method you believe you know works, report back.
