Vin & Viper,

On the next build can you set wifi to always on while sleeping as default? This may be a reason why some aren't seeing the usual ViperROM battery life, since on previous ROMs it was usually set like this.
I did it like this, I did it like that
I did it with a wiffle ball bat.

So will probably mess around with that first.
VPN I believe depends on the tun.ko kernel module. The kernel that comes with this one is a slightly modified stock kernel and I don't believe it has tun.ko installed.

If you install a custom kernel it will more than likely have a tun.ko module installed and VPN will work fine.

Edit: Just checked and tun.ko is not installed with this kernel.

Ah, but the stock ICS kernel doesn't have tun.ko installed? Or do the leaked ROMs not use the ICS kernel? The ICS VPN client has IPSec support, but it doesn't seem to be working. Chad's kernels are missing a couple of things I really need too like USB (and besides, support on them isn't looking too good in the near future). Okay, perhaps I'll dig into tun.ko a bit more, I'll try Cisco's Anyconnect client to see if that will work over ICS, and maybe try to find a compatible kernel (can't hurt right)?

Edit: Tried a new VPN client (VpnCilla) and I'm getting "Error on 'addRoute' ..... Possible Reason ... TUN device unavailable". Seems you are correct sir!

Yep, kinda what I figured. So unless there's a working Sense 3.6 ROM out with a custom tun.ko module built (it IS possible to take one from another kernel and shove it in. Sometimes that works.) VPN's not going to work on any of these ROMs. At least until source is released or someone adds in a compatible tun.ko module.

1) I saw somebody post regarding Chad's kernel RLS1... Is it working with the new ICS release?

2) I noticed that volume for ringer / notification cannot be controlled independently. Is that an ICS thing? Or a Viper thing?

3) Had anybody had success flashing xloud on Viper Rom?

Sorry if these have been asked and answered. New job and relocation have me slightly distracted...

I flashed the 1.13 ruu exe and still have bootloop at HTC splashscreen. I am now just 1.40 s-off without revolutionary. I reflashed 2.17 firmware and added recovery to it as I couldn't push recovery through fastboot. Said didn't have access or something. Tried flashing my backup and failed also. Nothing before this ICS Rom will flash without giving me bootloop. I ended up flashing this Rom again from scratch and it worked. Has anyone else had success downgrading to any other Rom besides ICS?

I also tried the modified superwipe linked in the meanrom thread, but same issues.

I've been able to bounce back and forth between this ROM, Viper 2.5, MeanRom via nandroids with no problems.

I also wiped it and manually installed Viper 2.5 via flash just to check, and have had no issues. Nandroided back to this one and it's still all working.
