Does heimdall work for i9100G?

I looked around on heimdall site, github page as well as searched this forum but didn't manage to get any information on whether it works for i9100G or not. I got a i9100G recently and am looking to root it now. I only have Linux on my machine so I cannot use odin.
I have been used to heimdall on SGS and I believe it is used by i9100 users too.
If heimdall doesn't work then what other alternatives do we have that can be used from Linux?

I think you can use phone odin, I've read in some post that it works well

odin should do the trick for u...tere are many tutorials to use odin and its quite simple

If u have root access use mobile odin app from play market ..as Mr Muhammad says ...u don't need a pc to do it

Are there any ways to root without requiring to connect to PC? All the methods I saw require Windows.

I think you need a windows to root your phone ...after rooting your phone can do everything directly from the it

Oh well! Will have to head somewhere to find a Windows machine which is safe enough. Hope heimdall will be able to support this device.

You can use Heimdall on Linux with your G, i used it while my windows-machine was broken.
