Go into bootloader mode (vol down + power), fastboot, type 'fastboot erase cache' 'fastboot reboot-bootloader', and then reboot.

So you have re-locked the bootloader and have a stock recovery right? Try erasing the cache in fastboot.

I think the command is "fastboot erase cache" but I'm not 100% sure on the command.

NVM, UnlockedNand has got this one.
What is the freaking obsession with "Press thanks if I helped you"? Just help out if you can FFS! If they press thanks then fine if not that's fine too. Having so many thanks doesn't define who you are as a person.

Flash a new boot.img according to the rom you are flashing. Superwipe, and then flash the rom.

This is the exact solution which worked. I was stuck after I unlocked my Sprint HTC Evo 3D via htcdev.com. I did these steps:
1. "fastboot flash boot boot.img" (extracted from Cool ICS rom)
2. Wiped everything including partitions using 4EXT
3. Installed Cool ICS rom

Thanks!!!

1. Please tell us what rom u want to restore..?
2. What app u using to backup that file..?
3. If before u have different rom with your backup, please use flasboot...

fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache ( optional )
Go to recovery
And then restore your backup..
