[ROM][ICS] |May 25th| Energy™ -.¸¸.·´¯ 1.29.401.11 base Blue themed ¯´·.¸¸. -
Welcome to the "Energy" ROM collection thread !
This development thread is the home of my "EnergyROM" custom firmware series for the HTC OneX device. Here you will find ROMs that I have created for this device over time. My main goal when putting a ROM together is stability. A second goal would be a good, professional look. I accomplish that by theming the original HTC ROMs and replacing the green with a dark, electric blue.
I build my ROMs with four main goals.
Stability through private beta testing before public release
Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)
Speed !!!
Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go. So, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the box.
Now on to the good stuff...
(You can stay up to date on the status of my ROM development by "following" me on Twitter)
How to Flash this ROM:
- Root your device
- Install a custom recovery
- Install the downloaded ROM .zip found in post #3
- Make sure to do a Factory Reset / Wipe before installing ROM

Here you will find repacked kernel boot images for Energy ROM.
Some notes:
- All boot images in this post have been repacked and tested (unless otherwise stated) by me.
- Testing only includes verifying that "my phone" boots into ROM successfully and works mainly as expected.
- A full wipe/factory reset may do wonders for you. HIGHLY recommended.
- Please remember that repacking process results in the loss of all kernel-developer tweaks to the ramdisk.
- DO NOT FORGET to install kernel-specific module packages in recovery BEFORE your first boot with your new kernel.
- Franco-kernels' changelog, kernel-modules and installation instructions can be found here
- Bricked kernels' changelog, kernel-modules and installation instructions can be found here
- faux123-kernels' changelog, kernel-modules and installation instructions can be found here
- EternityProject-kernels changelog, kernel-modules and installation instructions can be found here. (NOTE: Remember to rename the img file in this post to "eprjboot" and place it into the same directory as the extracted EternityProject installation files BEFORE running EXECUTE_ME.bat file)
The naming convention I use is:
<kernel developer's or kernels name>-<release ID>_Energy-<ROM Date/version>
So far only
Franco's
(Reminder: Starting with R5, Franco's original boot images can also be flashed without repacking, preserving his tweaks to the ramdisk. The choice is yours.)
Spin-Off Versions:
Just to be clear, Franco himself does not support this kernel. See this post. This is a modified version of Franco's kernel, modified and supported by wilkyyyy, mdeejay and team. francoS2W-Energy2505.img (MD5: FFC62BDC6111F63E735345543EF9E7C0) For required modules: francoS2W_RENOVATE.zip (MD5: EB54BB2113B4B8E905D3A7F1FEB6AAF1) (Credits to wilkyyyy, mdeejay and team) NOT TESTED.
(bricked replaces screenshot function with home and power buttons with power and VOL DOWN buttons. You must restore your phone from your nandroid backup to go back to original functionality. What? You don't have one???? Really????)
As I repack and test more kernels, I will attach their boot images to this post.
And remember, the fact that these repacked kernels boot on my phone does not mean they will do the same on yours. There is always a chance to brick your phone. If and when that happens, please remember to take a deep breath first and THEN blame yourself
Disclaimer: I am neither a kernel developer nor a ROM developer. I just repack kernel boot images with ROM ramdisks and take no responsibility whatsoever if anything goes wrong with your phone. No special applications are and will be tested for compatibility. No performance guarantees are explicitely stated or implicitely implied. Other kernels may be compatible with Energy ROM as well. If their names are not mentioned in this post, it doesn't mean that they are incompatible. It just means that I haven't gotten around to test them yet.
Credits: All credit goes to all developers for their awesome jobs. A special thanks to NRGZ28 for all the time and effort he put in for Energy ROM. And a special thanks to PG101 for opening this post to me enabling me to contribute in a very small way. Also, thanks to Daekin for his zImage Injector which makes repacking a breeze.
