So is this also considered an un-root return to stock. How to return for warranty repairs?

Yes. there is code in misc partition that lets HTC know that the phone has been unlocked then relocked. however, it should be possible to edit misc partition to look like nothing happened...in fact, there are ways of unlocking bootloader without HTCDEV...

Once we are up and running with jcase's bootloader, we can get more into this...

EDIT - BTW, after extracting rom.zip from this, build.prop still says 1.73.502.1, not 1.73.502.2. Strange...

I am new to this, how do you reflash the rom if you get a soft brick. I am a Iphone convert. I used to jail break my iphone from time to time. I would like to root to get rid of bloatware.

im really hoping that once the bootloader unlocking tool is out, the devs at xda will create a way where we can COMPLETELY revert to stock and relock everything so we can get warranty support. I hope it won't come down to the decision of either staying with sense or unlocking/rooting and permanently losing your warranty.
