Default can micro usb send audio out ?

For my in car solution, previously I used a brodit Active dock which you could plug an iphone cable into the bottom of, that cable I used previously for iphone was one iphone port in, but had an audio out as well as usb charge cable, so I was able to jack into my cars 3.5 Audio port and the other end into a usb cigarette port adapter, it was commonly referred to as a Y Cable.

I am looking to do similar from the Brodit Active HTC One X dock once its released, and ideally use one cable that plugs into the docks micro usb port (which the HTC One X plugs into in the dock).

So, a) does the micro usb port on the phone support sending the audio out ? and b) if so, does anyone know of a cable that will split out to an audio and usb end such as I described above..

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

It should be able to

The USB does HDMI which carries audio. Someone with more knowledge will be along soon I imagine though, they'll be able to point you where you need to be!

HDMI is digital though, so to use with a standard 3.5mm Aux you will need a digital to analogue converter. Assuming it cant switch to analogue... its a bit up in the air at the moment, need to wait for a few devices to hit the shops :/

You can also make a cable and connect them to the pins on the back that are used for a dock.

Thanks for the replies. I already have two separate cables wires in for aux and for usb, but I wanted to try and have only one cable so I could literally attach one and not have to plug both in and out, hence the year cable idea of
