I can't find anything that doesn't work with the HtcLinkifyDispatcher that's in 1.9.

Mike
I just tested it on MeanROM ICS 1.9 using a Google Maps link from the inbox of the Gmail app and it worked fine. He might be on an older version of MeanROM ICS without the hacked .apk or it could be a limitation of the email client he's using.

Edit: Just saw in his last post that he's already on MeanROM ICS 1.9. Sounds like a clean install and testing again with the Gmail app might be the way to go.

But that's the case whether HtcLinkifyDispatcher.apk is there or not. Even with the file missing entirely, the only way I was able to reset the association was to do a full wipe and clean install.

Mike
Did you try "App associations" in Settings?

Hey Mikey,

is there a way to restore carrier info or put custom text into the notification area, so it does not look empty when no notifications exist? I don't want to load Leedriod stuff. I like it nice and clean. Can you point me in the directions and i can do it myself if no smali code modification needed.

if you don't really know what he is referring too, it doesn't apply to you

You're right, but it is a little confusing because the offending post has been deleted but not the warning.

Interesting article over on the new Good and Evo. Apparently Sprint is going to kill the Nextel IDEN network by the end of June of next year and use the 800Mhz frequency for an improved LTE that will have better penetration than the current 1900Mhz LTE. Since the the IDEN network won't be phased out until June 30, 2013, and the 800Mhz LTE won't be rolled out until 2014, the fact that the EVO 4G LTE only supports the 1900Mhz LTE isn't a big deal.

I know of the ordeal regarding a certain persons kernels. Guess not seeing the original post is what had me confused.

Another weird example of my battery life going wonky. That first dip was due to GPS use while I was navigating to my job (went down about 10%), but almost everything else was screen off aside from a few quick email checks.

I don't know if you can tell, but after dipping ridiculously and holding flat for a little bit, it actually starts curving up at the end. I wasn't charging the phone at all, so I have no freaking idea what could be happening there.

Since the battery isn't critical, everything is displaying properly, unlike in my last screenshot.

It isn't a failing battery because I was doing just fine on earlier iterations of Mean and it's not apps because I have nothing new and have even uninstalled some stuff since I last had steady battery use. I've kept an eye on alarms for partial wakelocks and haven't seen anything out of the ordinary. Nothing notable in BetterBatteryStats in general as far as I can tell.

Edit: What the FRAK? Rebooted my phone and am suddenly at 14%. Something similar to this happened to me quite a while ago on an earlier iteration of GB Mean (2.7) it was solved by 2.9, so I have no idea what caused it. Pretty positive something going crazy in the system's ability to figure out my battery level properly.

Even after a clean install, I am still having wifi drop and 3g kick in. The stupid part is that it is infrequent. Anyone else having this issue? I am going to do one more clean install and see what happens.

Default Swype

Hi folks. I just flashed this rom and it's awesome. I've been holding onto warm but figured I would try ics and certainly not disappointed. I've been trying to install swype and getting a parser error. Looked in the apps forum but couldn't find anything. If this has been a topic I'm sorry... 340 pages is a lot to go through. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

There's a link in this post to the Swype beta for ICS. After signing up for the beta, download the installer and it will setup Swype. The Swype .apk cannot be installed as an app.
