With the old firmware, my location service is working fine; but need to turn on GPS.

So I won't upgrade to the new firmware until I know what improvement it delivers.

I have rooted it with solution of this post, THANKS A LOT!!!
now i want do a full backup, but how i can do it?
i try Gscript with back23_v2e, but when stop it i have only:
data.img kb 29165
secro.img kb 2
system.img kb 278999
firmware.info
MT65x3_v2e.ver

i no have boot.img, recovery.img, uboot.img...
i thinks that it is so because the script is fot mediatek 6573...where i can find a script for mtk 6575
or
how i can do it a full backup?

but this phone has a recovery?
if i push power + vol+ i have only a boot with android logo whit robot whit a red triangle, any button i push nothing happen... i must remove battery for off it.
This happen before i root phone too.

if i have a full backup i can try to have a modded recovery, for install zip file and make a nandroid backup

Try connecting it to usb and then pressing volume+power

i enter in "something" mode, i have post a photo, with logo with robot and red triangle, but i cannot do anything.

i try to rename vending.apk or phonesky.apk too..
ADD: i have installed the last version of original google market 3.5.19, and it no good... but i make a factory reset... and now it is ok!!!

3) how i can upgrade firmware? i have installed last version of flashtool.. i charge file scatter... i push "download"... but flashtool no found port... "broom error" if i try flash all firmware....
and Eboot error if i try to upgrade only system.img
i have installed on my pc driver for mtk6573, how i install the right drive came with update firmware package, the .inf file? i.m shyne of ask this...

i have installed adobe flash version 11, and its is ok!!! with stock browser !

No, GPS is fail in this firmware. I am waiting for a new rom to come

Hopefully they release new firmware soon.
I rather have a fully working GB than broken ICS.

Hi, I think you should install driver for mtk6575 instead of mtk6573, which can be downloaded from here: Haipai I9220 MTK6575

Tips: After you installed Google Play 3.5.1.9, you just need to clear cache in GP and Google Services FrameWork in Setting - Apps and then you are good to go. No need for factory reboot.

P/s: Which brand and model of router are you using now ? My wifi signal is quite low and I don't know how to improve it

Really interested in getting this phone but still uncertain after reading all the issues related to it in this thread. At the same time, am glad that there is a budding community here to support this phone and coming variants of MTK 6575 5+ inchers.

Hi joshting, welcome to my thread .The website that you provided indeed cheaper than the one I bought, which was around $199 and it has gone up to $215 now.

Btw, in my opinion, it is a good phone for those, who love Galaxy Note, and I think It is much better than Goophone.
