@angelobiz, I'd love to help and contribute to this. But I'm not sure how to do it. Later I'll try to re-read the whole post and see if I can do or not I've the 4th June firmware (I hope you mean those who has the 4th June firmware on the phone to do the backup/image). Cheers!
@cjshiu
thanks a lot!!!
it is symple... only it need many time :)
you can see the guide here
it is for mt6573 but i make a backup of my system.img and it work!!
only thinngs, someone better of me, check if the hex numbers are ok!!
@st0ned0ne, Yes. In the end I just go to the online store and get the one who ever labeled the item with "standard" description and photos.
@Mopao007, I just got my Haipai Noble on 15th-June-2012 and it's with 4th June firmware. To me as well, it looks perfectly fine. I've no issue with the wifi and GPS problem as describe by others. The wifi signal is strong (my distance from wifi router is one floor away).
Now what interest me most is the extra 2GB space for application. I was wondering is it possible to obtain that extra 2GB of space without rooting or flashing process? Because I'm totally new in this and afraid will "brick" my newly acquire (5 days old) nice phone.
What's the easiest way of doing it? Can somebody please kindly guide me through? Many thanks!
HI cjshiu, we can't have the extra 2GB space on the 4th June firmware, at least for now, we have to find a way to extract that firmware from our phones or found where to download it online first and then pass it to Angelo in hope he can do his magic on it.
I have strange problem with data connection.
Looks like some kind of locking.
Data connection on local "Megafon" mobile operator doesn't work
in any SIM slot (but network recognized, signal strong enough, voice works good). I tried 4(!) different SIM cards of this operator
and even did 1 SIM replacement just to be sure that problem
is not in the SIM itself.
There is no data connection letters like "G","E","3G","H" on signal icon at all for SIMs of this operator.
But,
Settings/About phone/Status/SIM status/Megafon=EDGE
(!) That's mean the phone see that network able to give data connection
I checked APN settings for "Megafon" and they are OK for sure.
(As I understand data connection should be recognized even if APN settings are wrong).
I believe, the problem is not in the network, because other phone (Huawei Ideos) work with data connection on all Megafon's SIMs I tried in the same place just OK.
Despite of Megafon's SIMs I tried 2 SIMs of other local operator, "MTS",
and on them data connection works perfect in any SIM slot (after switching): data connection detected, type of connection shown on signal indicator ( letters G, E, 3g, H are shown); transmission data by 2G and 3G works OK.
Thus I draw a conclusion that it is not a hardware problem.
And it's some kind of locking.
I tried to solve it in different combinations like:
- tested on all 3 firmware (07.05.12, 14.05.12, last: 05.06.12 (+Angelobiz v.2.0 Update)). After flashing each time I did clearing cache an factory reset.
- tried to change busybox for newest version (as suggested on Russian forum)
- tried to switch data connection between SIM cards, shifted SIM card between SIM slots, turned 3g on and off etc.
- tried via "Zopomobile tools" to do "Crack Operator GPRS lock"
NO luck.
Member of the forum "Resquer" replied me that he doesn't have a problem with local operator "Megafon". But he has Haipad, not Haipai phone.
So, I can't imagine what to do.
Before Haipai i9220, I had the same problem (no data connection on local operator "Megafon") on Chinese phone H7300 (on MTK6573 chipset).
But after flashing a custom firmware on those phone problem was solved.
Any suggestions?
I received my Haipei i9220 few days ago, and I have flashed some roms for try.
And then my back camera is dead with black screen, and I have checked it should be the problem of the camera firmware, when I flashed the correct firmware again, but the back camera is still dead....

I also wish the manufacturer had included a mini CD with drivers and a PDF that fully described the Haipai. As it is, my drop shipment came with the fold-out guide booklet entirely in Chinese which is useless to me. I also did a couple of factory resets just to see what that process was like before I installed my various apps. It would have been nice to see the initial screen with an obvious menu choice of mini instructions in various languages. As it was, on my third factory reset, I noticed the very small angled tab that I pressed to select English. The first time I got very lucky and was able to guess system key presses I needed to get to the nested language selection tab which is midway down the System tab. As it is, I am trying to find a system utility app that will tell me definitively what system properties are to include physical info like what type GPS is built in.
@glim59,
I believe you will find the Haipai i9200 to be a good smartphone to buy. Angelo seems to be getting regular updates on it and it is nice to see that the manufacturer is putting out frequent ROM updates. Those two things plus having a great xda thread influenced my buy. Now, if I was not having problems with the installation of iGO8, this would be a great smartphone. . .

Hi, I think it is because of the flash tool.
You can refer how to flash with this flash tool below:
2. a) Go to Flash tool folder and run SPMultiPortFlashDownloadProject.exe
b) Choose Factory Database --> Setup data source file: "MTK_DATABASE.mdb"
c) Choose File --> Open download agent file: "MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin"
d) Choose Scatter File: "MT6575_Android_scatter_emmc.txt" in Firmware folder.
e) Choose the figure same as the picture: IMPORTANT !! (SmartPhone MPD.jpg), which can be found in Firmware folder. Different phones have different combinations. For me, the combination to make my phone's front camera working is: ov5640_yuv - hi704_yuv - HS052NH_02B
3. Make sure the phone turned off and the battery was taken out. Plug the phone into the PC and wait about 5-10 minutes for the flashing process to finish ( When you see it becomes green and states that "Write OK" ).
P/s:
1.You can check more details on page 1 - UPDATE 2 if flashing process fail.
2. For step 2-e) If the front camera still not working . You have to try different combinations by clicking "???????" on the flash tool and choose "Unlock" to change the combination ( the first two figures are suggested not to change, only the last figure is changeable ).
1. Your phone needs to be rooted
2. If already rooted, in Rootexplorer, you need to set the system/fonts/ folder as r/w (not r/o) before you can paste the new fonts.
I followed the instructions earlier and flashed for AngeloUpdate 1.0
Wifi, ok
Bt, haven't check
GPS, seems to work, haven't check
but in general, seems to be ok. The only thing I had to do was the flash the repartition so I can see my 16gig sd card that wasn't showing
Anyways, I recently saw the patch below and decided it was a good time to try.
I downloaded all the files and flashed but Update2.0 always seems to hang at the Android Screen. I am wondering if there is any changes that I need to do or this is just me
***PLEASE NOTE*** - The first couple of steps to flash a ROM and ROOT your phone are the same because XP needs to FIND the phone FIRST
READ THIS ENTIRE POST FULLY AND DO NOT DO IT UNTIL YOU'VE PRACTICED IT IN YOUR MIND SEVERAL TIMES AND FEEL READY TO DO THE REAL THING. YOU ONLY HAVE YOURSELF TO BLAME IF YOU DO SOMETHING WRONG.
Recommend printing out this post when you flash your phone.
Driver Installation
Install Android SDK package on your computer system. Make sure that you have Android 4.03 installed as a package. After initial installation, check for updates and update those necessary for Android 4.03.
Unrar this directory of files to a different directory (recommend call C:\Android USB drivers).
Turn on your phone, Go to setting-developer options-click USB debugging. On the same screen, turn on or Allow Mock Locations and Stay Awake (for keeping the screen always on while charging).
Connect your phone via the USB cable.
Your XP computer should now find new hardware that needs to be installed.
Use the manual setting to use the directory for the MT6575 USB VCOM drivers you un7zipped to C;\MT6575 directory.
XP will install these drivers as a MT6575 device and it will also be a mass storage device.
On your computer, go to the C:\Android USB drivers directory. Go to the directory, called MT65x3 USB VCOM drivers. Double click InstallDriver.exe to install the XP MT65x3 drivers.
XP should now recognize your phone.
Click the USB tray icon to safely disconnect the phone. You will need to disconnect it twice as a USB storage drive first and Android Device second.
Reboot your computer and do not connect anything to it or run any other programs.
At this time your phone is now ready to be ROOTed or have a new ROM installed.
Download Angelobiz update.zip and copy it to your SD card. Recommend putting it in a directory called UPDATES (DO NOT UNZIP IT). http://www.mediafire.com/?o9d7g9c9xurk3
After downloading all the files, unzip the system.rar file into the June 5 ROM directory, reboot your computer and do not have any programs running or any other USB device attached.
Start SPFlashtool on your computer.
Select the scatter.txt in the June 5 directory where you stored the 20 files.
Select or choose (fill in the check box) all the files listed on this menu.
Turn off your phone and remove the battery.
Click the download button on the SPFlashtool menu.
Attach your phone (phone is OFF with battery removed) via the USB cable to your computer.
Wait for the SPFlashtool to find your phone as a MediaTek device on one of Ports (Port number may vary).
BE VERY PATIENT and wait for the files to be downloaded or flashed to your phone.
When it is completely flashed, remove your phone after the box pops up saying you have a new phone.
Replace your battery but do not turn it on as normal.
Recovery Mode Entry to finalize new ROM Flash
Hold the volume up key first and then press the power on button to enter recovery mode.
Select "install zip from sdcard" using the volume buttons from the recovery menu items.
Select"choose zip from sdcard"
Choose the directory on your SD card where you have the update zip file stored.
Run or choose it with the power button.
Select the right update.zip Select it using the volume buttons.
Run or choose it with the power button.
Wait, be patient and wait.
Your screen will flash several different parts of the update zip file and pause several times. Sit on your hands and do nothing until you are very sure the recovery flash is done.
Reboot your phone.
Successful Flash
If you've done it right, your phone will show a bright green "running rain or static stuff" from top to bottom with an Android robot on screen. You will hear a loud long noise.
Set up your phone by going to system; set date, time, time zone.
Go to System Utilities. USB Debugging should not be checked unless you are going to root or flash a ROM.
On the same screen, turn on or Allow Mock Locations and Stay Awake (for keeping the screen always on while charging). Recommend leaving these always checked.
Check out Storage on the system menu.
If you can only see the internal storage you will need to download the alternate partition zip file (DO NOT UNZIP IT).
Install this zip file by following the same steps you used in recovery mode (please see Recovery Mode section above) to apply the update zip file.
Enter Recovery Mode and follow the same procedures to install the alternate partition zip file.
Exit Recovery Mode by the menu reboot.
Go to the system menu and Storage. If you can now see the internal memory and SD card. Your phone is now flashed. Root it again as per the XP Flash Procedures.
