I don't do the entitlement check, and instead, click the box for Droid Razr (CDMA/LTE).

No routing fix, and works perfectly for me. Give it a try, if you please!
Currently running: Galaxy Note II

Let's say you pay for an unlimited minutes plan, and after 200 minutes they reduce the quality so that the person on the other line is choppy and laggy. You have to repeat yourself ten times before they can finally piece together what you are saying. Then, they don't change the quality back until next month. That's the equivalent to throttling.

If you don't have drop box, please help me out and use my referral link http://db.tt/XJuRP3T

That is the first thing I did. I just rooted and installed wifi tether and selected droid razr. It worked for 2 minutes and quit. It doesnt work anymore and gives me "started with errors" so I had to do these steps to get it working again. Besides this is just more legit.

DONATE TO ME
The entitlement check doesn't affect the wifi-tether app at all. It only affects the built in tether function.

I've been holding off on rooting my Droid 4 since it has been working well for me, but figured that it would be easy enough to do once I read the batch instructions on the run.bat file. It seemed to work fine on my Droid 4, and was super easy to perform.

I did steps 1 & 3 (with the Droid Bionic setting), and skipped step 2 since Highlandsun said it only affects the built in stock app. I tethered my Acer A500 tablet just fine, and worked on the first shot.

Just a couple of quick notes,
1. That wifi app link is broken, but it was easy enough to find it on a google search.

2. It will not allow the use of punctuation marks in the WPA Passphrase, and it wants a minimum amount of characters to be used as well. So watch to make sure that it saved your Passphrase if you changed it.
(My Current Phone/Tablets)

Lightbulb FoxFi works great

Or, instead of using the method below you could just use the freely available app in the Play Store (linked below) called FoxFi. Just install with no root required and you're good to go. Been using it since my D3 days since it was a pain to tether and it works great on my D4.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...om.foxfi&hl=en

Obviously the app could be pulled from the Play Store at any time but it's there now and way easy to use.

Step One: Root your D4 with http://vulnfactory.org/public/motofail_windows.zip or wihich ever prgram works for you.

Step Two: Download SQLite Editor from the Market or where ever youcan get it at. Install it and open it. Wait for Databases to load. Navigate down to Settings Storage (the one with the hammer and wrench) and open it. Click Settings.db. Click Settings. Navigate to line #150 (Entitlement Check) and long press the box on the right with the number 1 in it. Click Edit Field and delete the number 1 and enter a zero. Click Save and exit, then reboot your D4.

Step Three: Download the latest Wi-Fi Tether app from here http://android-wifi-tether.googlecod...3_1-beta14.apk and install it. Open it and click menu button to get to the application Settings. Once in settings, click device profile and navigate to Droid Bionic and click it. Go back to settings and scroll down to Routing fix and check the box. Go back and you are ready to tether 4G LTE from your D4. You can optionally choose to enable a Wi-Fi Encryption by checking the box. You edit the SSID and your Pass phrase by selecting them, however they come standard as SSID: AndroidTether and Pass Phrase: abcdefghijklm.

Step Four: Happy Tethering

I can't get my wifi working properly from my D4. I think it worked fine right after i rooted it (only did a quick test) now my two incredibles and my little laptop can't get an IP address. I have root access. I gave open graden SU permissions and my devices can see the WiFI most of the time. Sometimes one Dinc can see it using the app WiFi analyzer, but not when it comes to connecting. I even tried the app foxFi, they still can't get an IP address.
