Yeah, I'm using the HTC one x. Tried fixing permissions as well and did the install zip from sd card, not update zip. Only error message I saw was "Installation aborted". Tried repackaging as well.

Have you included both folders? Meta-inf and tools and are they in the root of archive?

Make sure when you repack the folders you choose just the META-INF and Tools folder, NOT the folder that those folders are in (zImage_Injector_v0.1).

Aha. The two folders aren't in the root of the .zip. They're in the folder that is extracted from the .rar. It's really late right now, but I'll reflash tomorrow. Thank you.

I do the process, in the source folder i put the Franco's kernel.img and in the dest folder i put my villainromboot2.img and it flash the zip OK but... nothing appears in my sd root ! Any help?

Make sure the source and destination boot files are called boot.img.

I had the same problem because i repacked the zip with winrar
But after repack with 7 zip it worked and newboot.img is created. Maybe your repack soft creates the problem as well ....

I do both thing, repacvked with 7zip and rename both boots to boot.img and the problem was solved, this needs to be posted in the OP i think.
