Best performance and Best battery life are always enimies they can never stay together

As far as battery is concern any ICS versions are still not up to the mark.....as the GB vesrions were.

Some devs are offering the best battery with their tweeks but yourself have to try....

If you keep on feeding him he won't stop, heaps of others will join in, and you're going against your own thread rules. It's already taken up the last five posts. I've reported his posts, so hopefully the thread will be cleaned up a bit.

Let's not degrade s.d.oconnor's excellent thread by using it to suggest whatever we think happens to be the best ROM this week. A month from now (probably sooner), these posts will be completely meaningless. Just redirect them to our sticky with our policy.

Thanks for understanding.

Hello everybody,

I am using the Samsung Galaxy S2 with the Resurrection ROM 1.8.1 ICS 4.0.4 and stock kernel.
I am experiencing a weird problem and couldn't get a solution so far.

Because I want to avoid synchronizing my contacts with Google, I update them with My phone explorer so that they are only on the phone and un-synchronized.
However, after I synchronize the phone with Haxsync suddenly all contacts which are on the phone storage disappear/are deleted and only the ones which are linked to an account stay.

Furthermore, there is no display option to view only the "SIM" or "phone" contacts (but i don't know with that is an ICS related matter).

I really appreciate any help.

Try going to contacts, menu, import/export and select import for either storage or sim.

This was more or less the solution. You have to synchronize the contacts then export them to the SD card and then import them again. After that they will be categorized as Googlemail contacts but will not be synced since the option is disabled.
Like this the contacts will not be deleted when synchronizing with another account.

Thanks.

I can't seem to find the answer to this : I am using Resurrection Remix ICS v1.7 now and I would like to update to v1.8.1 and I'm not sure if I have to wipe data/cache and then instal v1.8.1 or can I just install v.1.8.1 because it is the same rom and it's more like an update?

Go here, you will see this infomation -

1.Install the Main ROM
2.Wipe Cache Partition
3.Wipe Dalvik Cache
4.Reboot

I saw those instruction, but I just assumed maybe when updating to a newer version there is no need for wipe.
Thanks!

Default Resurrection ICS 1.8.1 not loading

Hi, I have a rooted Galaxy S2 and tried to install the Resurrection ROM last night with no success.

I downloaded ROM Manager and installed CWM on my phone last night. On CWM, I followed the extended steps to install the ROM on my phone. These are:

Reboot into recovery
Wipe Data / Factory Reset
Wipe Cache Partition
Install the Main ROM
In recovery go to Advanced
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Fix Permissions
Wipe Cache Partition
Reboot
If at the first boot you can’t do the configuration of the google account, skip this step and continue
When you boot into the system, it’s probably that you don’t have data enabled (3g, H+) just reboot
When you boot again into the system the data will be enable and you can do the configuration of Google Account (if you don’t do this before)
This is the moment for install all the extras like themes, fix’s, kernels, etc.

I put the ROM file on my phone and installed the update through CWM by locating the file on my phone. I tried re-booting my phone and it started the BIOS start up and loaded the Android logo and then froze. I then tried installing Siyah through Odin (make sure the COM part is yellow whilst phone is plugged in in download mode, click PDA and select the Siyah file and then ‘start’). I re-booted my phone after this and still there was nothing.

What am I missing? Any help would be massively appreciated.
