Unhappy Workaround for unclickable address/number?

Apple won a court battle to ban HTC devices last year due to data parsing.
http://gizmodo.com/5869507/htc-andro...e-us-next-year

This means that anywhere in the OS I can't just click an address to launch maps.

Anyone figured out a way to enable this in Sense 4.0?

So ridiculous...

I read about the ban earlier and I was concerned about it but on this phone, I'm able to click on addresses in HTC email.app to directly jump to maps. Same goes for cell numbers. I am pretty sure HtcLinkifyDispatcher app is handling the links and redirecting the links to right app - maps or dialer. That said, I'm not sure what the ban was about.

It's not highlighted but it's clickable. I just clicked it and it went to maps.

I am also US TMO HOS.

Also, I see shipments of HTC one x and another htc phones have been halted, but the One S which is essentially the same phone is not. I guess, it's just not a new phone any more.

If this is true, then what is up with App Associations in the Settings menu?

I just tried googling a local business in HTC browser, Dolphin, and Chrome, and the address wasn't clickable in any of them. Fortunately Google provides a good workaround on their end, though I'm unable to associate it with Waze, my preferred app.

Not sure. I looked around in there and made sure everything was set correctly. My guess is that if the address has maybe some kind of tags around it?
EG: <mapaddress>4000 5th Avenue, NY, NY</mapaddress>

I wonder if there would be a way to mod htclinkify file and install it on the phones as an update.

It is the same version.

For my test, I wrote an address in gmail desktop client and mailed it to myself. I then checked the htc one s gmail app, opened the email and touched the link and it opened in google maps.
