You should see a cmd prompt come up and load a few lines up then flash off the screen. At that point your tab should vibrate and say sumthin like "Entering Acer Download mode" with the acer logo in the middle.

I don't remember if mine disappeared or not, I know I kept an eye out for it the first time I flashed the BL. I read this after I flashed to v4, I would have checked had I read it earlier...sorry

As long as the little usb icon appears at the bottom of the screen it should be OK. Make sure you don't have any other usb devices attached... Right click on the usb icon and it should say apx device...
I always use manual method to update bootloader and recovery as I can't seem to get blackthund3r's tool to work....
You do need to be in APX mode though... Supposed to be tricky manually but I just stick a LED leg into the reset hole, press power 3 secs then a sec later release the reset button. Works every time...

ok we wont be too concerned with the driver disappearing just yet...

you get the are you ready to flash window and click yes
then the you have 8 seconds to cancel window pops up
and then the "flashing ....entering download mode bootloader pops up

so what do you see after clicking yes to the are you ready window
also what rom are you on now and which package are you trying to flash??
