Not immediately, to be honest this is all new to me and my team but we learning quick, I only started everything I know about android 3 months ago and now look I can pretty much solve most issues so I will be able to figure out this rom thing, but for I just want a bug free rom then I will start messing with stiff like linaro binary

Default Wifi connecting with 802.11b only?

Hey guys, hope someone can help.

Short version
Phone only connecting to home wifi with 802.11b. Very poor range and performance. How to force connection with 802.11n or g?

Longer version
I've had poor wifi performance for a long time, and was my inspiration to upgrade to CM9 just recently. I'm loving CM9, but I'm still experiencing dodgy wifi.

I've been looking at the router admin, and it shows I'm connecting with 802.11b only. Here's what the router is saying:
edit: Okay, apparently I can't post outside links to show you the wireless device connections screenshot. Here's what the router says about all the wireless devices connected, my device is at the top (hope the formatting holds up ok)
MODE RATE SIGNAL (%)
802.11b 11M 18
802.11g 36M 18
802.11n 65M 38
802.11n 58M 26
802.11n 130M 40
802.11n 78M 18

Mine is the only Android device in the house.

Curiously, this is AFTER I changed the router to mixed 802.11n & g (not b at all). I've searched xda and google for someone with similar problems but to no avail.

The router is a D-Link DIR-632, though I had the same wifi range and performance issues with an old router (Linksys WRG54T), hence the new one.

I've tinkered a bit with the router settings, changing the 802.11 mode and changing channels (only one neighbour with weak wifi), but no luck. I need to be literally standing next to the router to get a good signal.

Wifi Analyzer app has my connection hovering around -80 dBm

Hope someone can help! Cheers.

Update: After no response in this thread after a week, I've reposted the question here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1723121

Please, could you tell me what is Lagfix and how do I install in my XXJVU or even XXJW6 to stop lags.
Also, is it correct that because JW6 is using Touchwiz 4 it has more lags and hangs then JVU which is using Touchwiz 3 ? But then the other problem is that though XXJVU does not hang like XXJW4 or XXJW6 heats up quickly ! Even in the pocket !
So in GB the best is I guess XXJW6 but then how do I solve the lag problem ?
Thanks ! Have a nice one !

Just swipe it right or left in dropdown notification or remove notifications with the X in top left corner
No, the thing is I have pulse light notifications on. So when my phone lights up, I check the email on my computer. I want the notification to go away on the phone because it should know that I've read the email. Going into my phone to get rid of the notification is annoying.

My alarm volume keeps getting set very low, even though I set it to full and never change it. Anyone know why this is happening?

For lags flash custom rom (slim, ics333 or else) or install from market any launcher if you dont want an ics

I want to completely format my Phone memory and SD Card (Internal), I am not sure how to do it. Will factory reset do or I have to follow some other procedure.

I want to do that as there are plenty of redundant file due to continuous install/uninstall of hundreds of apps.

I am using Galaxy S i9000 and am on Custom ROM from here-
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1618757
Not sure if Factory Data Reset is the correct option due to the custom RoM.

Please help asap

Thanks

Default What to do?

Hi W1nst0n,

I'm currently running TeamICSSGS's V4.2 rom, I want to jump to the Dark Knight V5.5 rom. Can I flash directly from the former rom or will I have to flash back to GB for best results? Obviously I would like to employ the safest method of doing this.

Thanks
