Are you gsm or cdma? But next step would be to make sure you're running the latest firmware. If cdma then flash Freezas all in one update zip then flash a rom. Again if cdma I would suggest Mean Rom 4.2 (gingerbread) or Mean Rom .09 (ICS), they are stable with everything fully functional.

Yeah your phone is CDMA. You can root your current ROM by flashing this from recovery -----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...3&d=1336400579
Or just flash another custom ROM of your choice from recovery . Almost all ROMs comes pre-rooted.
If you want the latest radios and firmware by sprint , download this ---> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18734200/PG8...mware_Only.zip and rename it to PG86IMG.zip and put it on the root of your sdcard, boot into bootloader, it will ask if you want to update , hit yes.
And if you are going to flash the ICS leak, dont flash the firmware as some members are having problems with it. Just flash the ROM without Firmware and it should work.

EDIT: Do you have working superuser or SuperSU in your current ROM?
You said you are rooted, and you also said you have S-off and nothing else

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=21374142

[ROM] STOCK 2.17.651.5 Update.zip + Radio/Firmware bits

If you are in fact Hboot 1.4 flash zip to update your radio etc

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1645211
Then download the latest Mean Rom ICS (.09 at the moment), flash and profit! If you need any help or insight feel free to pn me anytime. Also the Mean Rom community is full of support not only from the dev Mike but also us users.. Someone will be able to help just about anytime of the day/night

Were the calls and texts working after achieving S-OFF and before installing the zip that I linked?
The problem you are facing is not because of the zip but i is due to revolutionary tool.
Everyone who is S-OFF faced that issue just after running revolutionary.....
It can be solved by doing hands free activation......
I am not on sprint, so just search or ask some sprint users......

Hope this helps....

Using your phone pad dial ##3282#

Select edit mode and enter you device's msl code(MSL Reader from market can get it for you). Go to Data Profile then press menu and choose 'restore". Your phone will reboot and reprovision upon reboot.
