[Q] Galaxy Tab 2 7 Wifi antena issue? Death Grip

Similar to iPhone 4, the wifi bar drops when I grab lower left corner in portrait mode. It doesn't seem to drop the connection completly but the bar goes down from 5 to 1..

Does anyone have this issue or could it be specific to my unit? Ready to swap if so :)

Where is the antenna in this image?

It is on the same side with sd card slot. Assuming that wifi signal goes down by grabing where the serial number sticker is in the picture. If it is a device specific issue I will return mine and swap it.

Pls share your story to figure if it is a design issue that all sgt2 7 have this flaw.

Correction. It is bottom left corner in the picture above. In the picture the main camera is on the top right.

happening on my tab also.

I am going to swap it for a new one. I will post if the death grip issue exists.

Get the app "wifi analyzer" if I turn my tab upside down it sees all my neighbors networks not just barely picking up my own...

Thanks for the suggestion. w/o death grip: -40dBm. with death grip -70dBm.

This confirms it and the signal drop occurs in a couple of seconds.

My tab has *EXCELLENT* wifi reception... when I hold it in portrait - upside down.

Only slightly less better in landscape either right side up or upside down. Seriously. Better even than my Droid X.

They had to put the antenna(s) somewhere. Leave it to an engineer to pick the worse location.
