Default Gingerbread to ICS - Very slow experience

Hello friends,

Been trying ICS on SGS2 for last couple of weeks, tried over 10 roms, from stock, aosp/aokp and always ending reverting back to Gingerbread.

The experience is mostly slower, more lag, slower to respond to touches, not good at all. Tried everything, format system paartition, wipe this, wipe that, wipe everything from scratch and still same experience, much slower and unresponsive then Ginger.

Is it just me or others have the same experience, as the ICS Development for SGS2 is massive, so I'm guessing it's just me? What am I doing wrong?

Cheers.

The only thing that is smoother on ICS is the scrolling inside the menus in the rom. If you want to try a smooth rom, go for the stock XWLPD.
Keep your GB, it's blazing fast. ICS is flashy and it's new so everyone wants it but the truth is that GB roms are still the best!

In my experience, ICS is much faster and the visual aspect is much better.
But there are some app with problems.
i use my sg2 to play at work.. and Real Racing 2 is not working yet.
Also the battery last a little less.

Maybe you shuold stay in GB for a while.

I'm experiencing the same thing as you. It changes from rom to rom though. The Resurection Remix 1.9.1 with NOVA launcher is the smoothest ICS rom I've encountered so far. It's still not as smooth as a GB rom but I can't revert to GB since im used to the new UI.

Default ICS seems smoother

From what I remember of GB, ICS seems a lot smoother. I've been using ICS Remix Resolution since about version 1.2 and to me it runs very well. Battery life is some times not as good as GB was, but it isn't a big difference and changes between each release of this ROM. I haven't tried any of the other ICS ROMs but have tried CM7 and MIUI and Lightning GB ROM and none of them seemed as smooth as REMIX.

This one. It's stock. Has no bugs. Smoothest thing for the S2. ICS does not compare.
