Like I said, it depends on the car. If you can it in there good, it's pretty solid, in my experience.

AWESOM PICS! THANKS!

As far as it being secure, I mean the arms themselves at the bends, not the socket. -sorry, I should have explained that

I think it's made by Kidigi - I ordered one from Amazon this morning. Will post here when it arrives.

I HIGHLY doubt that would hold my phone in place going over bumps, etc.

doesn't look too bad, but am now working on a setup for extended battery's added size.

Default Proclip

I’ve been following this thread since pre-ordering my Verizon S3. I just received my ProClip dock, and here are my thoughts.

Pros:
  1. In my car, the ProClip mounts between the top edge of a vent and a seam in the top of the dash. This places it right next to the instrument panel without completely blocking the vent.
  2. The mount holds securely, even in the Summer heat when suction cups can fall off.
  3. The phone fits snugly but can slide in and out with one hand in one motion.
  4. It’s powered.

Cons:
  1. It does block the vent a little bit.
  2. It’s expensive
  3. The lighter plug doesn’t have (and could easily have) a USB port to plug in another charger. As it is, it takes up an outlet. I have two in my dash, fortunately, so I can plug other items in the second one.
  4. It does not (no surprise) activate car mode.

For me, this is worth the expense, as it is the safest and most practical location for the phone in my car. We looked at getting a mount for my wife’s car, but the location for ProClip’s mount in her car is on the far side of the center stack where it would be difficult to reach or see while driving. We won’t be purchasing one for that car.

The most annoying thing for me is that the mounts made specifically for the phones don't allow the use of a case... I don't really want to remove my case every time I get into my truck...

I took the Infuse mount and made a custom mount for myself that works with my case...

It isn't the most beautiful thing, but it works great! I'm thinking about making one with wireless charging next.

I started a thread a few days ago....
