Phone appears rooted but Titanium says it isn't
Hi
Thanks for the thread
My Mini appears to be rooted (SuperUser Icon works)
but TitaniumBackup (presently unpaid version) says it "could not acquire root privileges. Please verify that your ROM is rooted and included BusyBox"

I presume that the ROM is rooted but am not sure how to check that BusyBox is installed

The root folder contains an item called busybox
In anticipation

Thanks

PS i have since downloaded a busybox app from the market but they won't install??

Things I have found since - I'm sure the phone isn't rooted.

When u say install the .zip file, I assume u mean extract it.
Where should it be extracted too - the same root directory created on the sd card??? or the root directory on the phone or somewhere else.

Also, when I reboot the phone in recovery mode I get 4 options, I take the 1st one, ie reboot the phone but I'm sure this reboots in normal mode, not recovery mode.

I've looked at the other options, but none of them make sense.

The second gives a list of apps I don't want to install.
The third mentions flashing the cache (I think) but I'm sure I don't want to do that and
the fourth is some sort of test.

Thanks again

jb

Try to unroot your phone and re-root it. I can't tell you how to unroot, it's just an idea.
MOD EDIT: DO NOT POST WAREZ IN OUR SITE!
I got it from a random site, so it's not mine

GL bro!

Thanks - finally got rooted
Finally achieved root after much research. On my Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 Gingerbread.DXKT6 Android version 2.3.6, the .zip file needed to be in the / directory, not a directory called /root. When it was in /root, it could not be found using the volume up/down buttons, only apps that were in the / directory could be found.
Sorry don't know how/when to use the Thank U button but thanks for the thread

Talking work for GB 2.3.4 too?
Hi

Would this work for a phone (mine infact) with Gingerbread 2.3.4? (Just not sure how important that 0.0.2 is.) I want to root so's I can unlock it.

Cheers for any tips. I'm really trying to read all this without my eyes glazing over...
