The true Sprint version will definitely be at least a 3.x.x.x, It's consistent with HTC's release patterns.
This Looks to be a Sprint/VM hybrid. My guess is that they have added a few sprint apps, maybe the HTC Sense social media stuff back in... and maybe even the sprint zone stuff. But we'll see, I'm gonna take a look at this though for the firmware to see if it might fix some VM issues people been having.

This is the first executable RUU ICS leak for the EVO 3D and possibly the final release. It probably contains a new HBOOT, so make sure you have S-OFF before flashing. This will wipe your data!!

Wait, if it has Sprint apps, this might be a combo like I was originally thinking

Yes, but the problem is the main version number. It will reject this if you try to flash it from a 2.08 or 2.17 phone that's fully stock and S-ON and not unlocked in anyway, the main version number check will fail.
So, They would need to release at least 2.18 (or 2.17.651.6 or whatever is .1 higher) for it not to fail that check.
So while they may try to combine them, they would have to first change the version number to that much higher.

Nope, not gonna do it. Just getting my replacement EVO 3D to fix the one I ****ed up by installing the VM Firmware and ROM leak. I'll wait til I see a SPCS leak, then I'll flash.
Not to mention, this is the article that came from that site:

Yesterday was the One X’s day to shine, today is time for the EVO 3D. We got our hands on the first executable RUU file for Android 4.0 for the EVO 3D on Virgin Mobile. We are lead to believe this may be the official ICS build coming OTA in the near future, but it won’t be confirmed until Sprint gives the word. The first ICS leak for the EVO 3D came in a “PG86IMG” form and caused numerous problems for people. This build is a safer flash but most likely contains a new HBOOT and radio, so be sure to already have “S-OFF” before flashing. And as always, this will wipe your data.

Well for one, it is an actual executable file. 2, probably bug fixes. And about the VM firmware, I have no idea. It has Sprint in the name of the file, so I can only assume this is a Sprint RUU as well.
it is virgin mobile - and yes, a .exe ruu can do the same damage as a .zip ruu - the exe creates a rom.zip, that is fastboot flashed to the the phone - this rom.zip can be renamed to pg86img.zip and be flashed thru hboot...
