[Q] what is the flashmode & how to enter it

hey guys, i have an XS and i'v unlocked the bootloader and am trying with the pre-rooted and the flashtool says ( please connect your devise into flashmood )
i'v tried to press the Volume up button then plugging it a blue led shows but nothing happens with the flashtool
any ideas...

Flash mode is when you press vol down while connecting the USB cable(green led).
This is only to flash officials firmwares,baseband and kernels via flashtools.
