Default Tab 2 7.0 not seen as a usb 2.0 device

the only laptop I own that sees it as a 2.0 device is my i5 sony

my x61t and desktop for some reason wont detect the tab 2 as a 2.0 and tells me to plug into a 2.0 usb port even though they are all 2.0 ports and other devices are read fine

whats wrong with the tab? did samsung screw the pooch and put incorrect id markers for older chipsets? I can't be the only one with this issue

It's not the tab, its the usb hub/controller in the laptop.

why is that? as all my other 2.0 devices work fine in my desktop and laptop. except for the Tab 2.0?

if it was the hub than when i plug in any other 2.0 it should say the same but it doesnt

Works fine on my desktop and new laptop. I'd also say that it is likely the USB hub/controller that you're using. Try plugging it into a different USB port. If that doesn't work, then try a different cable as I've had some cables do funny things with my phone before.

Setup a Development Environment
Setup and Use the Android SDK
Stock Odin Restore files

You can find the answer to all of your questions right here. If that doesn't work, then try this or this

dift cables do the same thing. it has to be something with the tab and the pid's used by samsung. anyone else have a x61t , dift usb ports do nothing dift, it wont read the port correctly so it has to be the samsung driver or tablet pid for older chipsets

If it were the tablet, then it wouldn't show up as a USB 2.0 device anywhere. It is something specific to the laptop you're using.

not true it is more likey the pid that the driver uses with the older chipset, otherwise no other 2.0 devices would work.

Samsund did something to the tablet that when it detects a older chipset it wont run

Did you install the Samsung drivers or just plug it in to you machine? My Tab 2 was doing the same thing and then I installed the Samsung USB drivers and it the error went away.

Not sure if that will help or not but give it a try.
