can we do that with the whole ota zip? just rename it and install from bootloader? because these adb commands are not working for me at all :s

what about the other files in the firmware.zip? won't they have any negative effect on the OS?

for example, from what i know, rcdata.img is used to add some config lines to build.prop in the OS. and there are 2 other img files starting with tp_MAL_*.

I guess the android version isn't updated to 2.3.6 or .7 has it?

99.99% chances that they haven't touched the android version.

I'll test it and let you know if there's any UI changes (not really possible tho) or software changes for the end-users who (like me) don't understand the changes in the 1st post.

Stay tuned, update in 10 minutes.

@OP can you please provide the full RUU link?
Search the forums and ask your questions there. I'm no personal supporter, so please don't pm me on everything.

I can't get these commands to work.

Let's see if PG76IMG.zip way works.

Edit: It said parsing....and went back to the Bootloader screen.

And I'm still on EQDKP.

So it didn't work.

Edit 2: I'm stupid.... This is an UPDATE. So I need to be on stock rom.

Will let you guys know in 20 minutes...

Edit 3: Can't get the RUU to work (old stock one).

@rezo - could you please link us to the full RUU? I would prefer that.

Thanks.

2.3.6 and 2.3.7 changes are bugfix for the Nexus S. I don't think they will bring many differences for the Wildfire S.

There isn't the 261711 build yet. Just install an old one and try to apply the update.

There is indeed new kernel (also listed on htcdev.com). I am more interested if new ardeno drivers are already included in 2.26 and the download location of the whole ruu file)
