There must be a kernel which has better battery life on my phone than stock XWLPD kernel ... I only have to find it.
You really should take a look at this Apollo kernel (direct link with well traducted to english by Google).
Want your advice on it when you will have time.
The kernel and the idea itself of combining a phenomenal kernel and adding it some I/O and governors should be a winner but since yesterday night that I'am trying it, I'am a bit disappointed about deep sleep overnight and definitively more with my day usage, where it should not
For exemple I did 8 minutes web browsing via Dolphin : lost 11%, did a little sleep of an hour after on my bed and lost 4% more right after when waking up the phone. Totally disappointed.
For some informations on my settings : I set I/O to "sio" and tried "pegasusq" governor.
Many thanks for your time

Thanks for sharing your experiences.
As I was a little bit disappointed by the last few kernels I have tested concerning battery life, I want to "settle down" my phone, the phone's battery and myself ;)
That's why I came back to stock XWLPD ... and now changing some settings to check their impact for battery life.
If it could be interesting for your Battery Saving TIPS Collection (your tm ?!), I will post it in your thread.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Nothing hurry, and it's totally understandable, take both a nice and well desserved rest
What kind of settings are you trying ? whatever it is, hope you will see a difference.

tm = trademark ... I think that is what you meant by "tm"
Just kidding ... I will let you know about my changed settings if I can recognize any significant difference for battery life.
Ahhhhh ok !! trademark of course, sorry didn't understood
Sounded logical, but I'am sure you beat my english in vocabulary didn't recognized "tm" directly
Putted this for fun yeah ^^ I like stylish thread subjects

Change no. 1:
I compared my current XWLPD system in battery tests with no auto sync for accounts and auto sync for one (Google) account (only Contacts and Calender). No difference in night use, and in mixed usage, I recognized a difference of about 11 hours (for 100% stock battery) => about 15% less battery life for auto sync enabled.
And that is only for one account with only Calender and Contacts enabled.
Just wanted to check how big the difference of this setting is.

Yeah that's exactly what I wanted to try few days ago for my new setting : deleting Gmail app and replacing it by E-Mail app and put an automatic sync every X hours and keeping only contacts/calendar auto sync, to save a bit more battery
I heard some people using "push" gmail situation, but I don't know what is it exactly. Seems a good way to save battery also
Thanks for sharing your sync test, it's interesting

For me, on my phone with my settings/apps, in my region for my normal use, stock XWLPD (on CF-Root kernel for XXLPD) and Phenomenal 5.3 / 5.5 Extreme had best battery life.
Could be the same for you, on your phone in your region, could be different.
Just check it yourself and report back.
Good luck !
I have been using Phenomenal 5.5 Medium (was chicken to try Extreme) following your suggestion, am very happy using it, no hanky panky kernel, smooth, no lags while playing games (NFS, Temple Run etc) or 720p video. Very decent battery performance. Thank you
