Special thanks
BluechipJ for the video, AeonWorld for the pro root tutorial, shantusingh for being the first one to use and post a root method for 4.0.4, buzzinkeegs for inspiring me to create this thread

After i used buzzinkeegs's tutorial to root my Arc s i thought to put the 562 kernel in the 431 FTF, so the only thing you need to do is rooting with OneClick root exploit for the 4.0.3!

thanks BluechipJ for this amazing video!

For Xperia Arc/S:

1) flash the ready to root 4.0.4

for the Arc s:
Greece:
http://uploaded.to/file/14aaw2yg
http://www.filefactory.com/file/3y2i...dy_to_root.rar
http://www.fileserve.com/file/tX5pdct
Iberia:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/6z9k...dy_to_root.rar
http://i.minus.com/1340701919/sOitqO...0to%20root.rar

for the Arc:
FR:
http://uploaded.to/file/fhx78bgu
http://www.filefactory.com/file/1jir...dy_to_root.rar
http://www.fileserve.com/file/YGDuugh
global:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/21ay...dy_to_root.rar
http://ul.to/0qs4zmv3
http://i.minus.com/1340698229/E4XGS9...0to%20root.rar

if you already on 4.0.4 you can just flash the 4.0.3 kernel: http://www.mediafire.com/?twn09p8ekug46f7 thanks to sathurnn

note: you might get errors after the reboot, don't worry, this is normal and step 3 will fix that.

2) root your Arc/s with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1601038

3) flash the 4.0.4 kernel

Arc kernel only:
http://uploaded.to/file/ivzlpk6e
http://www.filefactory.com/file/1e16...ernel_only.ftf
http://www.fileserve.com/file/FCajVTr

Arc s kernel only:
http://uploaded.to/file/tfs9vxs8
http://www.filefactory.com/file/1dyq...ernel_only.ftf
http://www.fileserve.com/file/WjFdf8H

that's all, you have a complete 4.0.4 rooted Arc/s!
only three steps, Flash Root Flash.

[Arc/S] [PRO] Root for 4.0.4 ICS Update
For Xperia Pro:

STEPS (you can use any method A or B)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IF THE LINKS IN STEP B IS NOT AVAILABLE AT PRESENT THEN USE STEP A INSTEAD
ALSO DONT WIPE DATA IN ANY FLASHING (UNCHECK WIPE DATA AND CACHE BEFORE FLASHING KERNEL)

A. If you already have a full ftf (full ics 4.0.4 firmware) otherwihumanse you can download from LINKS or just enter to B part

Check my old thread for tutorial

Old thread :http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...to_threadtools

Links:
Full FTF 4.0.4 (firmware) :http://xperia.myftp.biz/Xperia_Pro_ICS_4.0.4/
NEO 4.0.3 kernel here :http://www.mediafire.com/?gwe739kn5mcx56t
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B. If you have not downloaded a full android 4.0.4 for xperia pro proceed following

1. Downloads: a) this ftf (Ready to Root - ie build in 4.0.3 kernel )
http://www.filefactory.com/file/2dzv...dy_to_root.rar - thanks to overlo4d

b) Doomlord root toolkit - download from the attachments of this thread

c) 4.0.4 kernel http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?8up94h4v5raozcw
2. Flash the ftf (a) using flashtool
(Dont worry if you get black screen, just pull out the battery, put it back and switch on, wait for leds to light up ,at that exact point do following)

3. Root your phone by just executing the exe file in the toolkit (b)

4. Now just flash (c) ftf using flashtool

you have a rooted pro.

PRECAUTIONS:
1.Dont forget to close flashtool after flashing the first FTF (a)
2.Also close PC companion too

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About the toolkit in the link

The toolkit provided have a 1.15 busybox ver , which is very old (have permission setting problems and other problems) , so please download newer busybox (using jrummy's busybox downloader available in playstore) ,also change the su file in the toolkit/files/ folder by the su file I have given in files.rar
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks to overlo4d and others who provided the ftf and other tools
