physical key has been standard in the default (non USA) version of all three galaxy lines. all the us carriers changed their phone designs and names to be special.

Yeah. I get what Samsung has done with the galaxy line; I just wish it was different.

Anyone else on the fence about the SIII?

I can either upgrade in July and pay the BS upgrade fee or wait until November when my contract runs out and a new Google phone is released (which may be a Moto).

Yea would definitely prefer a Samsung phone, but didn't Google say they'd still accept bids from other manufacturers for future Nexus phones? Wishful thinking I know but taking Google at their word here...

PS- just logged into VZW's site and got this message:

Contract End Date: 11/06/12
You are eligible to upgrade with discounted pricing on 07/06/12. Or you may upgrade now at full price.
Note: Upgrading your device may extend your contract.

Anyone have an idea what the "discounted pricing" would be?

Discounted pricing is referring to the 199/249 prices.

I also upgraded yesterday, blue for myself, white for the wife. Letting go of the fascinate will be bittersweet.

I called verizon tonight and they told me that if I preordered the sgs3 that I would lose my unlimited data because the new contract would not go into effect until the phone shipped? How is it that all the other posts I read said the opposite?

thats because 90% of the csr's @ verizon dont know what the f*** they are talking about. go to the website and go through the steps to preorder, you will see the option to keep unlimited data.

Well I just sold my Galaxy Tab 10.1 so I should be able to pre-order my GS3 tomorrow...talk about deadlines. Couldn't have timed this any better lol!

Although there are a couple things I was curious about...There's really only two things that could possible turn me off from this phone which are the screen, and audio.

I'm a little disappointed in the screen after reading the cnet review but if it's at least better than the fascinates I can deal with it. (it is better, right? :P)

And then I also heard the Verizon version isn't going to have a Wolfson audio chip, is anyone worried about degraded sound quality on this device?

the screen is supposedly just a little better than the galaxy nexus, which has a great screen. I'm not worried about that, the whole pentile argument is not a big deal to me.
