Issues/Problems
  • No camera (yet)
  • App manager causes a reboot if any apps are installed on your sd card
  • Wallpaper chooser FC when setting wallpaper for Lock Screen or Home and lock screen. However when the home screen wallpaper is changed, the lockscreen wallpaper changes to match.
Google Now Trobleshooting (v1.3.4+)
  1. Google Now will close if hotword detection is turned on. To turn it off go to settings > voice > untick 'Hotword Detection'
  2. Voice search and typing does not work - common issue with new ICS roms for the yp-g70
  3. Google Now for ICS thread
  4. If you cannot get Google Now to work, I recommend reflashing the rom, but selecting the default ICS search in aroma installer. This will completely remove Google Now

Player 4.0 Download Page

GApps (optional but recommended)

Installation Instructions
Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0

Installation from other roms:
  1. Do a Nandroid backup - Not entirely necessary but recommended
  2. Push the latest zip file from the download page to your SD card
  3. Do a factory reset/data wipe (Not always needed when coming from other ICS roms)
  4. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
  5. Flash the zip in CWM recovery - This will start Aroma Installer
  6. Choose your theme and press next twice
  7. Accept the T&C's and then press next twice
  8. Select Install RemICS-UX
  9. Select Custom
  10. Pick your kernel and whether you want the add on apps and then press next. For Korean device use the INTL kernel
  11. Press install now - All done including kernel and add on apps
  12. Reboot
  13. Open the OTA Updater app to check for any new versions as the download page may not always be up to date

OTA Updates Installation:
  1. Open the OTA Updater app
  2. Download the latest version
  3. The installation will fail due to signature verification failing
  4. Turn off signature verification
  5. Install the zip from sd card. Remember to select Custom from the installation menu. The zip file is located at /(internal)sdcard/OTA-Updater

Tablet Mode Installation:
Tablet Mode is accessible by default in v1.3.2+ by changing the DPI to something between 120 and 128 inclusive. If you are running v1.3.1 or below, full instructions here in the first post

Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0

Warning! Flashing this may/will delete your /efs, which will causes major issues if you ever decide to return back to stock, so make sure you make a backup! If you don't know how, frankly you shouldn't flash this, as you need at least some experience just in case something goes wrong.

If you get stuck in recovery, flash a GB kernel, it will boot into recovery, simply hit "reboot". When it bootloops, boot into download and flash the CM9 kernel.

New kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...6&d=1346633739

In a nutshell, the installation instructions are exactly the same as for the CM9 rom by Team Supernova.

I would like to see this rom (or a port) coming to 4.0 when ICS will be released for it. It looks nice.

This rom is very fast and good. I am having one problem the browser keeps force closing and I even wiped dalvik cache. Also could you try to port the Samsung ics browser. Thank you

You can try different browsers from the Market, like Firefox,Dolphin,Opera,Skyfire,... I never use the stock browser really, I like Opera and Dolphin!

This rom is fast and I like it.

However there is one issue. Gmail is crashing ALL the time. Along with that when you go to a different song in a music player while you have any sort of music effect enabled it puts the volums at full blast. Pretty much some minor issues here and there. Ill probably wait it out until some of the issues are tweaked before devoting any full time to this ROM.

I'll have a go at this once I've fixed the errors so the rom is more functional

Both the browser FC and Gmail FC are due to the same error which I'm trying to fix now. I can't seem to replicate the error where the music volume changes when changing song. Which music app are you using? I tested it using Google Play Music and everything worked fine.

Is S Voice working? I'm at work right now so I can't really download or test anything? But S Voice isn't working for me when I installed it using Wanam's hacked S Voice or the signed apk! So just curious.

Yes S Voice is working. I just tested it now with my device id set to YP-G70. However, you may have to turn off location data from the settings menu as it sometimes stops working when location data is on.
