Default [Q] nandroid backup file size

wondering why my nandroid backup file is only 857mb. the way i understood is nandroid backs up everthing. like a ghost copy of phone. i am sure there is a good reason. but dont want to start messing around with stuff till i know i have a good backup. thanks

i did some digging and it sounds like it has something to do with my micro sd card maybe. if i understood it right i have to use a card with fat 32 format

That size actually looks about right, depending on how many apps you have installed.

CWM normally backs up everything that we care about; boot, system, data, cache, and recovery. It only backs up actual data though, so the backup will not equal the actual size of the storage medium.

Instead of doing a new thread i will just ask you from here.different subject though hope you don't mind. I had a shortcut for everything.me appear on my home screen.been googling it for hours with many diff. Words and no luck on how it got on my phone. I thought i was close once with a Android forum but i could not get in to see what forum said bout it. I have gut feeling that what ever that short cut on my home screen had something to do with not letting me see form. I sent everything.me short cut to trash and don't think it was anything but a short cut cause i searched my phone pretty good and did not see it. But it bugs me that i have not found out yet what i did to make it possible for something to put it there on its own. Thanks for any info.

I don't believe any of that will be a part of a nandroid backup.

I don't know where that shortcut came from, but there is an option in the Play Store to auto add widgets (don't know the exact wording) that automatically puts app shortcuts/widgets on your home screen I believe. It is one of the first things I turn off. Other than that, maybe an app you installed put it there. Hard to say really.

As for your music/pics/videos on your SD card. That is not normally backed up by CWM. The apps you have installed normally would be backed up, unless you have moved them to the SD card, or they were installed there to begin with. Keep in mind that some app data may not be backed up, just depends on where the app puts it.
