Try it on a.deodexed ROM.

When i was on stock it never worked.
your best bet would be to get a rom from developer im on RomAur S3 for now

just replace the apk in the rom and flash the rom and it has worked for me
All i care about is email and sms

Reviewers i got SMS and Email working by injecting into the ROM then flashing the ROM.

Thats the only 2 apps i want. I dont care about the others for now.

Aiight, I'll give RomAur S3 v1.1 a try tonight. Any known issues you have had with it? (No intent to hijack this thread).

I am still wondering, if its a odexed vs deodexed issue, why does Mms.apk work for me?
