Default PSA: READ HERE FIRST!!!! Chinese ICS RUU's and 6.01.605.05 CLNR's

In the last few days we have seen several people have big issues with flashing the vivow_ct chinese RUU's onto Verizon Inc2's and getting Revolutionary S-Off with Inc2's that shipped with 6.01.605.05 on them....

First and foremost, if you have a Verizon Inc2 DO NOT FLASH ANY CHINESE OTA RUU FILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The threads are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1693033
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1691499
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1683963

A big thanks to Relay for posting these files for S710d Vivow_Ct users who a) don't want to wait for the OTA b) are on other providers and cannot manually trigger it or receive it or c) vivow inc2 developers and modders to turn into flashable roms or use pieces to fix existing roms

At this point (as the last few days have shown) these are the only people who should even bother downloading those files!

Several inc2 users who did flash the RUU's are now stuck without data even after flashing back to stock RUU's and in forced roaming...and nothing so far has helped (QPST might, idk)

There are different ideas as to why this is happening...but that is not important to those who haven't flashed them...and for those that haven't DO NOT FLASH THEM!

As for those with CLNR Inc2's with the 6.01.605.05 update on them, DO NOT DOWNGRADE TO GET S-OFF. I have not been following the exact issue that closely, but you will end with bootloops and other issues following nandroid restores or reboots after flashing roms.

Functional non-rooted smartphone > fliphone > problematic bootlooping rooted phone

That is all.

Haha! Nice. Thanks for the thread. This should be stickied for the time being IMO. I think it is needed to prevent further headaches. I'm just glad I waited. I had planned on flashing the Chinese RUU, but held off due to work.

I'm sorry. That phone blows. At least they gave you a new one in the first place though.

My reasoning was, why flash Sense 3.6 when there's a perfectly beautiful Sense 4.0 that works with our phones off the bat? Was as simple as that...
