Default OTA Update keeps failing - How can I flash v10i or v10j manually?

My phone is having severe battery and temperature issues and I need to take it in for a replacement before my 30 days is up.

Long story short, I had to use the unbrick method to get back to the stock v10f rom from the ICS leak.

I immediately got the notification for a ~24mb update, which I'm assuming is V10i. It downloaded fine, but after it reboots the phone to install it, it immediately fails at 2% and then boots back up into v10f. The phone is rooted coming from the unbrick method, so maybe that's why it fails?

So I unrooted it using SuperOneClick, but it doesn't fully unroot it. In ADB I can still type SU and get the # sign. However, it does remove superuser and busy box. Also, the root checker apps in the market show that it's not rooted.

So I tried the update again, but it keeps failing.

I did a factory reset and tried again, but it didn't help. Also, I can still get # in ADB shell.

So I used the LG Mobile Support Tool, but it says my phone is completely up to date.

I'm not FULLY convinced my phone has a hardware issue. But it was on v10i when I got it, and it was getting really, really hot and data connectivity was horrible. It said there was an update, which was v10j I think, and that didn't help either.

So I tried the ICS leak and that made things even worse.

v10f actually works pretty well. My reception and connectivity is great. And it doesn't get quite as hot and the battery is lasting much longer. But just this afternoon it got really hot again and the battery dropped 12% within a minute or two.

So I think it's best to just take it in and get a replacement, just in case. However, I'm worried about taking it in when it still has partial root and it won't successfully update.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks! But that didn't work.

I read up on DoomLord's unroot kit. I was scared to use it because he says not to use it if you didn't root your phone with his method. Well, I used zerg rush in SuperOneClick and DoomLord uses zerg rush too. So I tried his unroot kit and it worked! Finally got Permission Denied in ADB Shell.

I'm downloading the update now and will try to install it in a few minutes.

UPDATE:

Well, even having full unroot didn't help. I still got the 0x013e error at 2%.

Trying another system restore now.

Update 2:

Did a system restore and it still didn't help. The update keeps failing at 2% with a 0x013e error.
